I began sketching out the horses. I loved doing big paintings. Of course right in front were my horses, behind them was a large heard. When I finished sketching I looked at the wall and pictured it in color. Black, white, tan, brown, green, blue...basically ever earth toned color. I texted the rather long list to Jey.
I looked around the room and made a list of everything else we would need. A changing table, crib, rocking chair, a toy chest, book shelves. I wasn't sure how far along I was, but I wasn't really showing. While I waited for Jey I called and made a doctors appointment to check and find out how far along I am, and to just do a check up to make everything is how it should be. Soon Jey was home, I went and helped him carry all of the paints up to the nursery.
"Wow. You're an amazing artist."
I set down the paints I carried up. "Wait untill you see it finished. I haven't decided what colors to paint the rest of the walls...I might do a mural on the wall across from this one."
"What would it be?"
"Not sure...maybe a waterfall and lagoon...something like that."
"Well whatever it is I'm sure it will be beautiful." I smiled as Jey kissed my cheek.
"By the way, I made an appointment for tomorrow to see how far along I am."
"I hope we can tell if it's a boy or girl..."
I laughed a bit and opened the paints. "I know babe. Would you mind making some lunch?"
"Of course." He smiled and headed downstairs.
I started painting. I had gotten the basic shapes painted when Jey came up with a tray of food. He sat on the floor with the tray and looked up at me. I put my paint brush down and joined him. He had made us burgers. They looked amazing.
"Sorry that took so long."
"It's alright. I got alot done. Just need to do some details."
"Well don't over work yourself babe. Summer said he needs some help stocking shelves so I'm going to go do that. I won't tell him anything."
"Ok babe." I smiled as he kissed me before he went downstairs and left.
I started painting again. I got the majority of the background done before it started getting late, so I decided to finish tomorrow after my doctors appointment.
I went to go get ready for bed, I found it odd that Jey wasn't back yet. I figured he'd be back soon so I went ahead and went to sleep.
When my alarm clock went off the next morning Jey still wasn't home. Sighing I got ready to go to the doctor. I had hoped Jey would go with. I grabbed my keys and went to my car. I tried calling Jey but there was no answer. I got in the car and drove to my appointment.
I parked and went in. I signed in at the front desk and a few minutes later the doctor called me back.
"Wren? Hi I'm Dr.Lopez." She smiled as she talked. "I understand that you're here to see how far along you are?"
"Yeah. I found out two days ago."
She began to put the patronium jelly on my stomach. "And how old are you?"
"Twenty."
She smiled as she began the ultrasound. "Pretty young...and the father? Is he in the picture?"
"Yeah. We live together. He wanted to be here but he got called into work."
"Oh well that's good. It breaks my heart when young women have to raise their child by themself because the father is out of the picture."
