I knew it was late and that I had work in the morning, but I didn't care. It was a warm summer night and the way the moon looked on the water was beautiful. Maybe just one more dip... I pulled off my over sized t-shirt and waded into the water. I swam around for awhile before deciding I should head home. I made my way out of the water and to the picnic table where my stuff was laying. I dried off and pulled on my t-shirt. As I slipped on my flip flops a person stumbled out of the woods that stood on the left side of this little cove. They hadn't seen me but I could hear them talking to themself.
"Stupid fucking people. Give me no fucking choice."
Quietly I grabbed my keys and tried to slip to my car unseen. Apparently I failed because now the voice adressed me.
"Who the fuck are you?"
"Uh...no one. Just leaving."
"Well No One I'm Jey. Don't rush off on my account."
"It's fine I really should be going anyway." As I spoke I made my way to my car. I barely caught what he said as I got in. I slowly drove out to the main road before flooring it and getting good distance between myself and him.
So that was what he sounded like. I never met him until now. I've only ever seen him lurking around sketchy buildings. For a person with such a bad rep his clothes made him look look like he was the dark prince, Dracula. His voice was rather pleseant as well.
I could see why so many girls were drawn to him. Most were sterotypical 'white girls' who live on Starbucks, ugg boots and daddy's money and wanted to prove they weren't as 'main stream' as people think.
Within 20 minutes I pulled into my parking spot and made my way up to the top floor where my apartment was. I could hear Harry Potter playing inside the apartment so I figured my roommate was home. I walked in and I could see him sprawled out on the couch.
"Nice of you to come back." He threw a marshmallow at me.
"Ok ok....I know it's late. Please don't kill me. And I know I have work in the morning."
"Well go shower and come watch with me. It's your favorite one."
"Order of the Phoenix?"
"Of course."
I laughed a bit throwing the marshmallow back at him before going to my room yo shower. Summer was my best friend, he was also my older brother. He's the only family I've got and vice versa. Our parents died when he was 16. I was 12.
I threw my T-shirt and swimsuit into my laundry basket before grabbing a clean towel and going to my bathroom to start the shower. I heard the movie pause and a few seconds later I could hear Summer in the kitchen. Probably making us hot chocolate. I washed up and dried off. I pulled on my pj shorts and tank top that had little bats printed on them before returning to the living room. Summer was setting our hot chocolates down on our coffee table.
"So what's his name?" He looked up at me.
"Who?"
"The guy who you were obviously fooling around with." He smirked and bumped my shoulder.
"You know I was at the lake."
"I know, but I still like to give you shit."
