My palms were sweating excessively.
I was nervous. That said a lot. I am never nervous. My hands were probably shaking too but I was gripping onto Dante so hard that I couldn't notice them. His arm was turning blue from the lack of blood flow.
"Can you decrease the pressure I still need my arm" he groaned."Sorry" I mumbled letting go of his arm.
We were walking to the middle of the forest. Dante, the rest of my family along with Alpha Christian and his family all together. I glanced at everyone as we walked. Matthew had a stoic expression plastered on his face. He didn't want to be here I could tell. His mother seemed nonchalant.Alpha Christian kept looking around suspiciously. He was very on edge. Much like a true alpha.
Uncle Isaac was neutral while Aunt Zoe had a wide closed mouth smile on her face. Even though she was angry that my mother had left me ,they were still sisters after all. I guess she was happy to see her after so long.
Everyone expressed so many different emotions. It was giving me mental whiplash. The sun that was once high up in the sky was covered by dark rain clouds. It made the forest seem even more majestic than it was.
"Are you nervous" Addy asked. She was walking on my other side while she rubbed her hands together furiously."Not as much as you" I chuckled.
She rolled her eyes before sighing.
"I'm serious""Of course I am Adds" I mumbled "I'm meeting my mother after so long. I doubt I can even recognize her"
That wasn't the complete truth.
Because the moment we heard people approaching I looked up and saw the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.I knew that it was my mother. She had long platinum hair that reached up to her back in the form of a ponytail. She had bright violet eyes that were surrounded with thick long eyelashes. Pale olive skin that shined brightly with the faded sun.She walked with a proud stride and a glare set on her face. She hadn't changed since the last time I saw her.
I knew she wouldn't come alone. She had two men beside her and they didn't look happy at all. In fact they looked quite angry. They were making me anxious. I took a step forward ahead of everyone but my mother put her hand up.
Wait. She was telling me. Nobody else could see the silent communication we were having.
I stopped. Watching her closely, wondering why she had stopped me.Suddenly a silver blade flew straight at my head. I was about to dodge it but Alpha Christian caught it mid air. He hissed at the contact with silver, dropping the knife. My heart skipped a beat. That could have went right through my head. Not killed me but caused serious damage.
We were under attack. Five men appeared out of nowhere hissing viciously at us.
Vampires.
What were they doing here. Did they work for my mom? I glanced at her to find that she was already looking at me. Gagging my reaction. This was a test I could tell. She was trying to see if I would react or not. Christian and my uncle growled loudly. We all followed suite, our growls echoing in the open space. Each werewolf near a vampire launched itself towards it. It was an ugly fight.
Alpha Christian ripped out the intestines of one them and tossed him aside like a plastic doll.
Uncle Issac half-shifted sinking his teeth into the throat of another. The venom from his teeth killed the vampire instantly. Dante and Abby fought one together before ripping off its head. While Luna Melody and Aunt Zoe fought another.I stood there watching everyone fight and did nothing. My mother had her hands out in front of her like she was casting a spell yet she kept her eyes on me the entire time.
