Addison's POV

I sat at the bar drinking up sorrows. I couldn't find Jasemine anywhere. Dante had went to talk with Anna and everyone else was having fun. I didn't want to bore them with my sob stories.

I glared into the crowd of people. My heart was beating at a slow rate because of how hurt I felt. Zac was on the dance floor dancing with some dusty blonde haired rogue. He didn't even look my way. I was so confused. One moment it felt like he wanted me but then the next not.

I can't seem to figure out what I did to deserve a mate who doesn't love me or at least like me. He didn't make me feel that way. He made me feel ugly and undesirable. It was as if the universe was punishing me or telling me that I would not have somebody to grow old with, somebody to share a home with or even raise a family with. I was going to die alone.

I had even went to the lengths of saving myself for him. I was the virgin mate and by the looks of things he was far from being innocent. The rogue grinded her body against his so much to a point where I couldn't take it anymore. So after throwing back my glass of whiskey I quickly made my way towards them with an angry and determined look.

Zac saw me coming and wrapped his arms around the girl pulling her even closer. I stopped almost tripping over my own feet. Did he seriously just do that deliberately? A stupid smirk made its way on his face confirming the quite obvious truth. This was all a game to him. He was trying to make me lose my cool so I'd embarrass myself. Well two can play at that.

I changed course and made my way to Mask who was dancing very sexually with a human girl. He wasn't too far away only a couple of meters so I knew Zac could see everything. I tapped lightly on Mask's shoulder.
"Mind if I cut in" I asked with a bright smile on my face.

It was very dark as the sun had set and the party lights were on. Though I could see his expression change. Mask smiled shaking his head slightly.
"No not at all" he said with a small chuckle.

The human girl looked between us with an angry look.
"Whatever" she said before she stomped away to find her next target.

I looked at Mask. Really looked at him. He made me think about my perspective on rogues. I hated rogues. I wanted nothing to do with them because of how they treated other people and how they portrayed themselves. Yet Mask seemed so different. Tamed if you must. But he somehow still managed to smell like a rogue but not in a repulsing way.He seemed like an angel born of defined looks seeming as though he would never hurt anyone, but I learned never to underestimate anyone or anything.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and felt him take hold of my waist. It felt so wrong but I had a point to prove. And I always prove my points. The DJ decided to play 'Don't stop the music', by Rihanna and I mentally did a cheer. What a perfect song for the situation. We danced and danced. Mask even went to the extent of spinning me around. All the while I kept my eyes on Zac. His eyes were on me too. Blazing with so much anger that he even pushed the rogue girl away.

I smiled victoriously moving my body against Mask. He seemed to notice where my gaze kept straying. Mask smiled devilishly. Had I not found my mate I would have seriously dropped my panties. My eyes widened.
"I feel so used" he said placing a hand over his chest faking hurt "If you wanted to make him jealous all you had to do was ask for my help"

As I opened my mouth to say something, Mask smashed his lips onto mine and shoved his tongue into my unsuspecting mouth. He tested like cherries and beer. Every cell in my body was asking me to push him away. Who knew the mate bond could be so strong. It felt like I was cheating on my husband. And with a total stranger. But Mask had other plans. He immediately deepened the kiss and trailed his hands down back until they were loosely sitting on the upper part of my ass.

Was I actually kissing him back?

It wasn't long into the very intimate kiss when Mask was ripped off my body. Zac threw a hard punch to his face knocking him down.
He growled lowly.
"Stay away from what's mine" he snarled.

The music stopped as all the attention was brought to the three of us. My face heated up. I really felt bad. I had never actually seen Zac kiss someone ever since he came to my pack but I just did. I was much worse than he was.

Mask put his hands up.
"Woah dude let's not cause a scene" he said "I was just giving her what she wanted"

What I wanted?

Zac clenched his fists and was about to hit Mask again when we heard it. The loud crash. I thought it was only audible to werewolves because of our heightened senses but even humans heard it too as they all gasped. Something big must have happened.

Not long after, Anna suddenly came sprinting towards us with Dante hot on her heels. She was breathing heavily and her face flushed. It was obvious that they were in the middle of something when they heard the crash.
"We have to go" they said at the same time.

Looking at their panicked expressions We didn't have to be told twice. We all followed Mask to the underground garage. He really is a rich kid.
He pointed to a huge black SUV and we all hopped in with Anna surprisingly driving. She was a really fast driver. The car was filled with a new unexplainable tension. It was as if a cloud of dread was hanging above our heads. I couldn't understand what the problem was.

"What's going on" I bravely asked.

Anna glanced at me through the rear view mirror.
"I think it's better if you see for yourself"

At her words the fastest drive became the longest. We drove around the mountain to the main road. There was so much traffic that we had to walk with our feet. There were people surrounding something. I pushed through everyone. My instincts were willing me to.

The first thing I saw was the severely damaged truck but that's not what shocked me the most. My heart stopped beating when I laid my eyes on the ground. There on the road  was Jasmine surrounded by a pool of blood with Avour growling lowly beside her. Wait what?

He had his arms wrapped around her body.
"What happened" I gasped rushing to their side.
Avour looked up and I almost fainted from the shock and fear that circulated through my body. I immediately bowed down my head when I looked into his bright yellow eyes.
"You don't need to do that" he said looking back at Jasmine "We were walking and she fell off the cliff"

I immediately looked up the cliff over shadowing us. I knew I wouldn't have survived that. But Jasmine has to. She can right?
"She's going to be okay right" Anna asked with slight tears in her eyes. I had even thought I saw tears in Avour's eyes.

Avour looked at Jasmine's limp body before sighing softly.
"I don't know"
