Yay! I am finally going to place a tick now! I can’t believe I actually completed one book! I thought I was too lazy to ever do that. To be honest, it is actually the most important reason why I contemplating becoming an author ever. I’ve always enjoyed literature but I never knew writing – like officially – could be so much fun.

I would like to dedicate this chapter to my readers; some of whom make their presence felt by voting, commenting or even following me and then there are others who just read and close the app/laptop.  I guess that has to stop for me today! Yes, every one of who is reading, vote! I have been always uttering something about submitting this book into a competition right? Well, it’s the hotkey books competition and they are going to choose a work with the maximum votes. So please be kind enough to vote on all the chapters and ask your friends and family to do the same. It won’t take more than five minutes. Please, I’ve got to prove something to my mother. She thinks I am so useless that I will never become something. I want to prove her this that writing is something I love doing and that I can pursue it as a career too you know? Most importantly, I want to prove her that I am capable of doing something in my life; that I can be trusted upon, that I am not useless for the lack of the right word!

On a lighter note, she needs to let me read. *groans* She doesn’t let me read too! Don’t hate her okay?

Lastly, there will be other characters and one will come out on Monday in a separate book named, ‘More Of You’, so check it out. It will be like a continuation to this book so don’t worry, you’ll get something to read every week or so.

This is the longest chapter I’ve written so enjoy reading!

Recap

The conversations flowed easily. Soon she was genuinely enjoying herself and feeling a tad comfortable. It was easy to tell, given the look of relief on her face. She started to hang out with us and soon it became the two of us. We started walking because I always liked to walk. I would grab a friend and then walk for all the free time we had. Before it was Rida and then it became Scarlet. It was easy to be friends with her. We couldn’t stop high-fiving the first few days because we had so much in common. Every time we realized the common things in us, we high-fived. She was like a mine full of gold but then again they say ‘everything that shines is not gold.’

Part 2

Scarlet

Everything that shines is not gold.

That came out to be true. She was perfect with a dark imperfection. She was suicidal. Yet I was friends with her. I know how scary that sounds and how many people would recommend me to leave her, heck! Even my own mind didn't want to stay a minute longer but I knew I had to have faith in her. She was suicidal because of douches we humans are, because we don’t ponder upon our actions, because we senselessly hurt people with our two-faced personalities, because we can’t act like the person Allah has actually made us and because we are too selfish to think about somebody other than ourselves! It’s not my place to say whatever she went through but one thing is for sure, she’s getting her justice and I’ll make sure – as long as I shall live – that nobody ever make her or any other friend of mine go through what she had to go through. I knew that second that if I left her then right in the middle of when she was telling me everything about herself, no matter how few days we had spent together or how meaningless our friendship was back then, it would scar her forever. That day I promised to stay with her to help her grow and glow and make her at least a bit more confident than she already was. Um . . . well maybe let’s start from after the day we gave an awkward History presentation.
