Dead or Alive

BELLE:

I woke up in a dull room , my body wrapped around in wires, a breathing tube down my throat and a painful body.

My hearing was very faint but I heard " she's awake , look " , I then saw the face of my sister Dani. she looked at me with panic In her face." Belle , can you hear me , do you know where you are ?" I heard another voice say. their face was blurry and I couldn't quite see who it was , but it was a voice I didn't recognise.

" What happened , why am I here?" i quietly said to my sister.

I then heard Lisa talk "Belle , you were in a car accident , you were flipped over the car and knocked unconscious , you've been like this for weeks"

"What about Tom, where is he"

" Belle he's gone , we don't know where , when you were hit by the car he ran off and we haven't seen him since"

I just stared blankly at the wall as the woman I presumed was the doctor began asking me how I felt and If I was In any pain.

" Can I go home, I don't want to be here anymore" I asked my mom who was sat next to me.

"Belle we are not sure, it depends how well you actually are". I sighed annoyed. I then heard Christina mumble " what, you wanna get back to sleeping around with boys"

" Why don't you just leave Christina , if you don't want to be here then leave because I couldn't care less". she then walked out of the room and disappeared round the corner.

"Belle, you don't have to be so rude" Dani then told me

" Dani are you serious, she's the one telling me I'm sleeping around with boys and your calling me rude because I told her to leave, why don't you just leave in fact why don't you all just leave , ill make my own way home" I shouted back.

"Belle, we are not leaving you to get home on your own, if you don't want us here we will wait outside but we are not going to follow orders from you" my mom then said to me with anger in her voice. I then turned away from them and heard the door shut, I looked back around and I was alone. "finally" I said quietly to myself. just as I was drifting back to sleep I was disturbed by the doctors voice

"Belle ,you can leave today so if you just wait here and we will get the documents so you can sign out"

" Okay cool thanks bye" I said back to her. She then left the room for me to get myself ready. after about 10 minutes the doctor came back in the room with my mom and asked me and my mom to sign some papers before I could leave. as we were leaving the doctor asked If she could speak to my mom in private so I waited in the car with the rest of my siblings and It was very awkward.

LISA:

I don't understand Belle, why is she defending Tom, she already told us what he did to her so why was she denying it. I began to worry for her when she went outside with him.

"Michael, you don't believe what she just said do you , you saw the bruises on her, that boy did that to her, he beat her black and blue and your going to let her stay out there with that" , I screamed at Michael.

" Lisa of course I know what he did to her but if I go out there it's going to make everything worse than it already is, just stay there and look out the window" he shouted back at me.

I went over to the window and saw Belle running down the drive towards Tom "what is she doing" i said to Michael. Me and Michael then went out the door and began walking to get her when suddenly there was a loud screech and a huge crash. We then raced down the drive to be met with Belle lying face down on the ground and saw Tom run off into the distance. The driver of the car got out not realising how much damage he had caused " I didn't see her , she came out of know where, oh my gosh I'm so sorry " he said shaking uncontrollably.

" Can someone call an ambulance" Michael shouted towards the driver.

He ran back towards his car and grabbed his phone and called an ambulance, he then said " I'm sorry ,I have a family ,I can't get arrested" then the unthinkable happened he got back into his car and sped off. I chased after it but it was useless, luckily I had managed to get the car details before he sped off.

Michael was unaware that the driver had left and was sat over Belle telling her to wake up.

His head shot up when we heard the sirens of the ambulance coming towards us, then stood up.

When the ambulance got to us they wanted to know what happened and that was when he realised the driver had driven off." what happened to him , where'd he go" he shouted at me.

"We need to get her to the hospital now so who is coming" the paramedic asked us. " Lisa you go , ill get everyone else and bring them " Michael told me.

As I drove in the ambulance with Belle, she took a turn for the worse and stopped breathing, luckily they managed to revive her but she was now in a more critical situation and needed a lot of help.

We eventually got to the hospital and Belle was rushed into the emergency room . unfortunately I was not allowed in the room as they had too many doctors in there keeping checks on her and making sure she didn't turn again.

I sat alone in the waiting room and prayed to god that my sister would be okay. I was then distracted by a male voice " you can come in now if you like, we have managed to keep her stable "

I walked into the room slowly and looked down at my sister who was covered in wires , she looked so pale and weak. I wasn't allowed to even touch her. I looked down at her stomach which was showing and saw a bruise that covered the whole of the stomach , I thought to myself ' surely that wasn't from the car accident , it's too big and she was hit from the back also I saw the bruises she had before and this was not there . I called a doctor in and asked them if they knew where the bruise could be from if it wasn't from the car.

He replied " this bruise isn't from the car accident, it's old not very old not even a few days it looks very new, tell me has she been in any fights at all, I'm asking this because she looks very unwell and she has bite marks on her".

"Well to be completely honest with you Belle, gets into a lot of fights I don't know why but she does , its in her nature to hurt people who hurt others even if they are not the blame"

The doctor looked at me with a confuse look on his face and said "well if you can find out where these marks came from then you will find out what has happened to her" with that he left.

I walked back into the room where Belle lay quietly on the bed trying to convince my family she was fine by smiling. it was a convincing smile but I didn't believe that she was okay, I wish she would trust me and believe that ill help her when she falls.

I made my way to the side of Belles bed and placed my hand on her face " we need to talk" I whispered.

"Can everyone leave please , I need to speak to lisa about something" Belle suddenly said.
Once everyone had left the room I sat beside Belle and asked her about the marks on her. I think the pressure was to much and she began to get annoyed.

"JUST SHUT UP LISA , THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU , NONE OF YOU SO JUST LEAVE ME ALONE"
I felt like she had just kicked me in the stomach. My sister hates me, she's gone. she's been sucked into the mind of Tom.
"Belle I'm only trying to help,just tell me what else Tom did when you talked with him"
"Lisa , he did nothing, I need to see him"
"There is no chance you are seeing him even if we knew where he was"
"Well I need to , its for your own safety so you need to find him and bring him here"
"What do you mean for my own safety"
"Lisa I can't say just get him here otherwise I will go looking myself"
"Belle that's not happening ,you are staying here"
She then began shouting " I'm not staying here Lisa , you don't know what Tom is capable of so I need to find him "
She then began taking the wires off her and tried getting out of bed before collapsing into the floor in pain. I ran to her and wrapped my arms around her, I feared for her own safety but didn't know what to do.
The doctor rushed in and told her she needed to get back into the bed but she refused. A male doctor then entered the room and put her back into the bed , she was too weak to get back out.
"Lisa I need to see Tom please"
"Belle what else is he capable of"
"He will kill you ,so please let me get out of here , if he sees me he will leave you alone "
"Belle we don't even know where he is "
"I can call him ,please Lisa I don't want anyone else getting hurt"
" If I get you out of here , I'm coming with you "
"Okay , just get me out of here "
