Dedicated to SamMadison because she was the second big author that ever replied to me, ahaha. Her story, The Heartbroken Heartbreaker (she think's the title's silly), is fantastic. Link is in the external link and it's 3053578 if you're on mobile.
Enjoy!
UNEDITED BC AGAIN, TRAVELLING AND SCHOOL STARTS TOMORROW SHIT
RECAP: Potential Rapist has ordered Declan to get close to Malia.
~~~~~
"Hi Malia! I'm so sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier... you know how time-zones work.They're so time conscious. Get it? Sorry, that was a really lame joke. But anyway, yeah your clock is with me. I stole it okay? Not like you were gonna come up to visit me! And what is this about you meeting a guy? Now I'll have to come down. Skype with me? Love ya." Malia smiled as she heard James's message. More often than not, she would claim James was 'Nazi-crazy' and James would make a comment about how Malia looked like Hitler. Their relationship was not one that was commonly found.
"Malia!" Ateifeh's head peaked in from the door and she smiled. "You alright?"
Yeah, I'll be fine." Malia sighed and slipped her phone under her lap. Ateifeh walked towards the bed and Malia shifted over to make space. The older woman took a seat and Malia laid her head on her shoulder.
"Look on the bright side, darling! There's more food for us tomorrow." Ateifeh wrapped her arm around Malia.
"I'm probably overreacting."
"It's okay to get upset if someone cancels something you were looking forward to. And I hate to say this, but that Ahmed boy gives me a bad feeling. Like death or something."
"That's not very nice."
"I'm telling you my honest opinion. You liked him like that, didn't you?"
"I kinda do... Like I can see a relationship but I don't know."
"I'm sure he had a good reason to cancel on you..."
"Yeah. I'm sure he did." She said bitterly. Even though she didn't want to, her mind wandered to the phone conversation she had with Ahmed that morning.
"Hello?"
"Ahmed, hey."
"Malia." They were both silent. Until Malia spoke again.
"Are you mad at me?"
"You? No- no of course not."
"Oh, good. I got scared for a second, you know?"
"Malia we can't be friends anymore. Well, not anymore but for a while."
"Excuse me?"
"Yeah, look, Declan-"
"Let me guess... He made you choose and you chose him."
"It's not like that Malia. He did make me choose but," She had already cut the call.
Ateifeh kissed Malia's head and walked out, oblivious to the things going on in the younger girl's head. And then, for the first time ever, Malia cried over a boy.
It wouldn't be the last time though.
~~~~~
"Declan, I really don't have time for this."
"You made a good choice, Ahmed." Declan smiled and gave his best friend a manly hug which the other boy did not return. "She's not who she claims to be. Borderline hypocritical, really."
