After 18 it's everyone common goal to find their soulmates, including me. Imagine a love where that person is tailored to be fit for you by the heavens themselves. A love that would have you live a lifetime together. No wonder everyone wants it. Many people leave school and take off once they turn 18 in search of their soulmate. Unlike them, I value my education. So, until I finish my last year of college, I will remain here living my normal life. I only have two more months left of college. Once I'm done I will find my soulmate.

My hand fumbles around trying to find the snooze button. As soon as I hit it the annoying noise ceases. Then realizing the significance of the alarm I drag my lazy arse out of bed. Stumbling into the bathroom I squint in the harsh light while squirting toothpaste on my brush. After brushing my teeth and relieving myself I grab the first clothes in my drawer and throw them on which happened to be black skinny jeans and a burgundy vans hoodie. While picking up my back pack and phone I whisk myself out of my room and into the kitchen. Thankfully, my roommate Riley left hot coffee for me. I grab the coffee and jump in the car driving to my morning lecture. Our apartment is so much nicer than the dorms on campus, but it's a quite close so I don't mind the drive to much. I'm majoring in engineering. So classes are mostly interesting. The professor looks very young, most likely hasn't found his soulmate, and has a very contagious upbeat attitude. Once I reach the lecture I see Riley flagging me down at the back of the classroom. To please her I go over and plant my stuff beside her.
"Ash, I thought you were going to be late" My caring best friend says
I rolled my eyes and smirked "I'll never be late, I'll always find away."
After a couple of minutes the rather attractive professor comes in with an armful of what I hope are graded essays.
"Ok class I still haven't graded the essays-" the class lets out a loud groan almost in unison"-buttt I'll be grading them today during the lecture. So, I will be pairing you guys up for partners work"
In this class their are a fairly good amount of attractive people in this class so I wouldn't mind be paired with them, but I would prefer to be paired with Riley. He started calling off the list of paired names. I barley payed attention until I heard my name, "Ash and Blake" My eyes lock with the pair starring at my from across the room. Aric blue, that color you see when look at Windex in the sun. Except they are lighter, brighter, and full of life. His hair was jet black in a mess on top of his head and his body was lean and muscular and had skin that looked smooth and soft. While sad I was not paired with my best friend I was thrilled to be paired with him. He just seemed so inviting but the first time I saw him I experienced deja-vu even though I know I've never met him before. Blake gets up and starts to make his way over to me. Once he got to the desk next to mine I could smell the faint smell of peppermint and pine. It was a good combination that seemed to fit him perfectly. He clears his throat seeming uncomfortable with my piercing gaze. I extend my hand and put a smirk on my face while saying, "Ash King, pleasure to meet you."
Blake looks at my hand before returning the hand shake.
"Blake Ryder, likewise."
After listening to the professors instructions we took the two hour period and finished the assignment. Just as I was about to pack up my stuff the professor announces that this will be our partner for the rest of the year and we have one last project to complete with them. Blake looks me over and rips a piece of paper off his journal scribbles down something and hands it to me before leaving the lecture hall. I look around in search for Riley but don't spot her. So, I leave and head for Starbucks where I can enjoy a latte while studying for finals. I search around for my car keys. I can't find them anywhere. Before I text Riley I search through my bag one more time. I'm just about to put my bag down and text her but I look down and see the shiny metal keys on the ground. I really am a dunce sometimes. Once I retrieve my keys from the ground I put them in to the ignition and start my drive to Starbucks. Once I arrived I checked my phone and decided to text Riley.

Me: Hey Riley. Where'd you go after the lecture. Just making sure your ok.

I start to review my notes and going over my notes from this year. After going through a quarter of the material I take a break from the work and check my phone. I have one unread text from Riley.

Riley: I'm good I just didn't feel to well and headed straight home.

Poor Riley always seems to be sick. I scroll through instagram for a little bit before resuming the work and review from earlier. After I finish another quarter of work I decided I've had enough for today and pack up to head home. Since Riley is sick and we live near Panera I go to pick up some soup and bagels for the both of us. Cheddar broccoli soup with a plain bagel and chicken noodle soup with a everything bagel. I arrived back I'm at the apartment and her eyes widen at the sight of the bag in my hand. She was currently curled up in a blanket burrito on the couch with friends playing on the tv. I walk slowly over to the couch careful not to spill the soup I hand her both bowls and plop down next to her. After her thanking me profusely we dug in and enjoyed the soup and tv. After throwing out both finished containers I sat back down and we talked about class. She immediately asked about Blake and the note he handed me crossed my mind. I never opened it. I tell her how it went and ran to my bag to grab the note. The note read:

Here's my number :) (xxx)xxx-xxxx

I squealed like a pig. Like a literal pig. Riley laughed at my reaction then cooed over how cute that was. Without missing a beat I skip over to my phone and add his number. After debating whether to text him or not I decided to.

Me: Hey Blake, it's Ash.

Immediately the three typing dots appeared. I waited patiently for a reply.

Blake: I didn't think you were gonna text me :)

Me: I was a bit busy today, so for the project do you want to work outside of class on it?

Blake: Sure, but tomorrow do you want to grab coffee sometime?

Me: Yeah that would be fun
I turn off my phone and tell Riley everything and go to sleep with a smile on my face.
