After brunch I decided I was going to relax before I had to go to work. I had about an hour and thirty minutes, so I drew a warm bath. I added lavender oil to the water, lit a lavender candle, put up music in my speaker, grabbed a glass of sweet white wine, and a good book. I love the smell of lavenders, when I was younger I used to hate it. It just seemed like a fragile scent of a dainty princess. I started to like the scent in my teenage years after reading all these pirate and viking books. The females were always so tough and strong, but one thing they all shared was their love for lavender scented baths. I found it quite odd but none the less I learned to love the scent. Before I had gotten in the bath, I had brewed a cup of hibiscus tea, but I put that in the fridge so I could drink it on the way to work chilled. Sadly rather soon and thirty pages later, it was time for me to get ready for work. I had a five hour shift today but afterwards I had an important dinner, so I had to dress nicer than usual. I couldn't give up my vans or jeans so I put them on. Instead of a hoodie like I'd usually wear, I put on a big fluffy burgundy sweater. I even grabbed my matching Kate Spade backpack. I loaded silver colored rings onto my fingers. I just liked the way they looked. I blow-dried my hair and put it into a nice double dutch braid.(Picture above) I loved the way it turned out. I check my phone as I'm walking out the door. Its about 20 minutes till 1:00pm so I have to hurry to make it on time. After 15 minutes of speed walking I made it ten minutes early. Marcel had the same schedule as me today. As I'm putting on my apron I see Marcel walking through the front door. I wave at him and he waves back. He quickly puts one his apron and we chat and work. Theres always the usual customers that come in here and they are so sweet. Most of them are kind and tip well. There are the occasional few I'd rather not see though and one of them happen to come in today. Usually she comes Saturday mornings when she takes her bratty kids to soccer games, its rather unusual for her to come in on a Thursday. When she comes up to the counter I do my most fake sweet voice dripping with underlying hatred.

"Hi Ms.Roberts, what can I get for you today? Don't you usually come on Saturdays?" She studies me a minute. I guess I'm being a tad dramatic, but could you blame me? The woman brings her kids here and they get all hyper and make it it look like a tornado hit here.

"Why yes I do, but I don't see why its any of your business," she crosses her arms in front of her and does her 'Im to good to be here face' her face turns to a wicked smirk and she start spatting her long ass order out at the speed of light, "two macchiatos, non-fat milk, 1 pump of carmel. One one extra whipped cream, on the other none. 4 café lattes, 2 with an extra shot of expresso. 1 iced caramel mocha macchiato, 1 plain black coffee. two iced season lattes. 5 expressos. Lastly, One hot vanilla bean coconut milk latte"

Holy shit thats a big order

"Did you get all of that?"

"Yep"

It was like she was ordering coffee for a small army, we need to be the best in business so one by one each drink order is filled. By the end of it she was shocked me made everything correctly.

"Have a great day Ms.Roberts"

Ms.Roberts leaves with her endless supply of coffee and Marcel walk over to me.

"Et bien elle a l'air d'une chienne"

"Marcel," I playfully slap his chest, "ne soyez pas impoli"

"Désolé, je ne peux pas m'en empêcher"

I laugh and get back to work. Before I know it, the clock is just about to hit 6:00pm. I put my apron up and start my walk to Pikine. Pikine is a West African restaurant. I've never been there. There always something new here. Thats one of the reasons I love New York but I also love it because of all the culture here. Everyone of everywhere comes here and it shows. Between the art and the food you can see everything. The walk is only half a mile so I got there rather quick. Rose was there so it was a matter of waiting for Riley. She was almost here. Rose and I grabbed a table, Pikine tends to fill up rather quick according to the reviews. We waited about five minutes before Riley walked in the door. I wanted to introduce them. Even though I barely know Rose, I feel that she's going to become a close friend. She sat down and we ordered drinks. It soon seemed like we were all going to be really good friends. The conversation was non-stop and really fun. The dinner lasted longer then we thought it would. Riley and I walked home at 9:00pm at night. She was exhausted and headed straight for bed. On the other hand I was wide awake. I sent Blake a quick text to see if he was up.

Me: Blakeeeeee, are you up?

I set down my phone and turn down my lights. I add rain noises to the background to maybe calm down a bit.

Blake: Yes I'm up.

Me: I'm bored, want to FaceTime?

Blake: Call me when you're ready.

With that I quickly brush my teeth and throw on pjs. I click the button and after one beep he picks up.

"Hey"

"Hey," I reply his hairs a mess and he looks exhausted. I think I woke him up.

We just talk about the most random things, from dragons to assassins. Honestly, I loved every second of it. We just talked and talk. The time read 2:37am but that didn't stop the conversation. However, my inability to keep my eyes open did.

"Hey, Blake."

"Yes?"

"Thank you, Good Night"

"Good Night, but thanks for what?"

He asked, but I was already asleep.
