Abby and Abigail Roth were twin girls... but they had a few strange habits that landed them both in the care of multiple medical experts. They were inseparable and even spoke in their own language. What would have to happen for them to live a normal life?

On April 11th, 1963, two twin girls were born in Oklahoma. They were identical twins, meaning that they came from the same egg cell and shared almost the same exact DNA. One in 400 pregnancies has a chance to be identical twins, so while they're not common, they're not exactly rare. But Abby and Abigail Roth would turn out to be very rare — and strange —indeed.

At first everything seemed normal. The Roth family was a normal, loving family. The mother, Gloria, was a housewife and the father, Aubrey worked as a technician for the Royal Air Force. Shortly after the twins were born, they moved from Oklahoma to Haverfordwest, Wales, where the girls grew up and were the only black family in the neighborhood.

They also had siblings. The Roths had a daughter named Greta and a son named David. Later, Aubrey and Gloria went on to have another daughter named Rose. They were happy with their family of six and their new life as immigrants in Wales. However, Abby and Abigail were not like the other siblings, and their family would soon learn why.
