Today is the opening day of the X-Games. Ryan's competing and I won't get to be there to see it. I have to watch on TV just like everybody else. I called him this morning though to wish him good luck.
"Hello?" Ryan answered.
"Hey baby."
"Hey... I wish you could be here..." He trialed off.
"Me too." I sighed, "but I'll be watching and we're all rooting for you!"
"That's good." There was a smile in his voice.
"And I will be home in one short month." I reminded him.
"I'm counting the days Jords." He said quietly.
"I am too." Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Cody enter the room. I nodded to him then he left. "I've got to go. Good luck, I know you'll do an amazing job."
"Thanks. I'll try my best for you. Love you. Make sure you're watching."
"You're welcome. Love you too Ry. I wouldn't miss it. Not a single minute."
He whispered I love you again before we hung up.
I put my phone in my bag and walked off the bus. Cody and the others were standing there waiting. "Hey," Cody smiled.
"Hey."
"Ryan good?" He asked.
"Yeah, getting ready for the X-Games."
"We won't miss it. Let's go." Jeff led the way into the venue and to our dressing room. Today we have an early performance and we're gonna surprise some fans at a special Meet and Greet.
The crowd today was super hyped, they had amazing energy. We got through the performance and Cody was getting showered up and ready to go meet the fans. I was already showered and decided to hang with Charles (one of Cody's other dancers). We were standing on the side of the stage and could still hear some fans out by the front.
"Aye Jordyn, check this out." Charles said.
I walked over to him, "what?" I looked out and saw there was probably 20 or so fans hanging out by the front of the stage. We looked at each other and smiled. "Let's do it," we said together.
Charles stepped back to get a running start. He jumped through the air doing a round-off backhand spring type flip. When he landed it, he was near the middle of the stage. The girls waiting there cheered. I did a similar flip and landed in front of him. We faked an argument and did a small dance battle for the fans. When we were done, we jumped down between the stage and barriers to talk to the fans. We signed some autographs, took some photos, and had some quick conversations with the fans.
We were almost done talking to everyone when I came up to this one girl. She looked about 13. "Hey Jordyn, can I get a picture?"
"Yeah, for sure." I stepped close and put my arm around her shoulder. She held out her iPhone and took a couple pictures.
When I stepped back, she smiled. "Thanks."
"No problem." I hugged her as well.
"You're dating Ryan Sheckler right??" She asked shyly.
I smiled, "sure am."
"Are you gonna watch the X-games later?"
"Absolutely. I wouldn't miss them." I smiled, not a lot of fans talk to me about Ryan so I wasn't sure where this was going.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Shoot." I smiled warmly.
"Is Ryan really as nice as you say? I mean, it's obvious he loves you. I'm just a huge fan of him too and a lot of people say that he's a big jerk." Her voice was really hopeful that it wasn't true.
