stans pov.
I stood by my lord.
We were standing on the balcony looking down at the small village.
It was quiet and no one was in town.
I watched as my lord kept his head high looking down at the town.
Almost as on cue soldiers started marching into town. They were dressed in maroon tinted armor with silver accents, to represent the grand wizard king.
I started to fidget while keeping my head high, trying to look professional next to my lord. I wasn't scared of losing my life. I was scared of letting my lord down. He wasn't just my lord. he was my king, my best friend, my super best friend...my boyfriend.
He inhaled and let out a quiet sigh. Without turning away from the sight he spoke in a confident loud voice. "prepare the troops." Two guards that stood by the balcony doors turned and walked away to prepare the troops.
I was his guardian, personal knight, assistant, partner in crime, super best friend... boyfriend.
He snaked his hand over to mine and held it. I squeezed it slightly as he breathed out "this is war."
He turned to me holding both my hands, looking me in my eyes. "prepare, aliases." he spoke softly, almost a whisper.
I nodded, "yes my lord." I turn to go, but he doesn't let go. "wait." he says with a slight fear in his voice. I turn back to him. "yes my lord." I answer again. I can tell he doesn't want me to go. "i- I love you." he said fear finally breaking through into his voice.
I cupped his face kissing him. I wish it could have lasted forever but time was short. I pulled back resting my forehead on his, still holding his face. " I love you too, stay safe." I let go of him.
"I should be saying that to you," he yells gaining his confidence back, finally I breaking eye contact as I practically run towards the aliases room down a couple hallways.
I still can't believe that out through the years its come to this. to war.
