Cerise walked up the hallway towards her room. A million thoughts were racing through her mind. As she reached her bedroom door she stopped. "I'm so stupid." She breathed out.

She turned around and raced back down the hallway. She had all but told Daring she loved him. Why not just tell him?

No more secrets. No more lying. She thought to herself.

She knew that the next right step was to confess her feelings to him. She would finally have everything out in the open.

She had nothing left to lose.

She stopped for a moment pacing back and forth. Playing in her mind what she would say. She had never done anything remotely similar, but she had to try.

"Hey Daring, so guess what? I'm in love with you." She mumbled to herself. She groaned, "No. That was terrible."

She slowly made her way to the gardens where she left Daring. "Daring, I've been in love with you since high school. I just now figured it out." She massaged her temples. Nothing sounded right.

This was the moment that could change their lives forever. It had to be perfect. Cerise couldn't fumble over her words.

She took a few deep breaths. She knew Daring better than anyone else. He would understand what she was trying to say. She was pretty sure that he felt the same way.

Cerise reached the garden to find them empty. Daring must have went inside. she thought.

Now not only did she need to find her words, she needed to find Daring.

She checked the ballroom, the library, and the sitting room with no luck. She frowned, maybe tonight isn't the night I tell him.

Suddenly her ears twitched and she picked up on noise coming from the kitchen. She could hear two people talking; Daring and Sarah.

She quietly made her way to the kitchen. Right as she was about to open the door, she stopped dead in her tracks.

"I don't know what to do Sarah."

Cerise stood still and listened for a moment. She knew it was wrong to invade their privacy, but Daring sounded upset.

"I mean, How do you tell someone that you don't love them anymore?" Daring sounded defeated.

Cerise felt her heart stop. She covered her mouth with her hand to keep silent.

She heard Sarah whisper something but she couldn't make it out.

"I did have feelings for her at one time, but I just don't anymore. I don't love her and I never will." Daring sounded determined in his statement.

Cerise closed her eyes tight to keep her tears from spilling out. She swallowed the sob that was threatening to escape.

"I can't do this." she whispered.

She ran away from the kitchen door. Her mind was cloudy as she head Daring's words play over and over again.

I don't love her and I never will.

She flung the castle doors open and ran as fast as her legs could take her. She needed to get out of here. She needed to be able to breath.

Tears were now streaming down her face. She felt heartbroken and humiliated. How could I have been so stupid? She thought.

She ran until she reached the invisible boarder that surrounded the castle. She stopped and thought of her next move. She could find sanctuary somewhere in the woods and then go from there.
