Malcom
For the rest of the day Sophia, AJ and I watched movies. Sophia wanted me to go to the restaurant opening but I told her that I was fine spending the night with them. I came to visit time with her and it was an added bonus that I got to spend time with her daughter as well. I was pretty certain that AJ was now my best friend because I was able to sing all of Let It Go with her when we watched Frozen. I had practice on Monday so my flight was scheduled to leave Sunday evening.I was packing my bag getting ready to leave while Sophia watched me. She had just put AJ down for a nap so it was just the two of us in her room.
"Why are you staring at me?"
"No reason, thank you for being so understanding."
"It's no problem. I got to spend time with you and made a new best friend."
"AJ's going to be really sad seeing you go."
"I know but I'll be back soon and maybe when you come to New York you can bring her with you."
"I'll try."
"Did Amari know that I'm here?"
"No."
"Are you going to tell him?"
"Maybe."
"I don't care if you do but I am going to meet up with him so that we can talk. I don't want things to be awkward when we have to be around each other."
"Okay, let me know how that goes. Although I know he'Lil probably make a big deal out of it. I had a great time with you this weekend."
"I had a great time as well. I'm hosting a charity flag football event in a few weeks you should come and meet everyone. You can even bring AJ."
"I'll think about it."
"Why did you and Amari decide to keep AJ and y'alls marriage a secret?"
"Hiding our marriage was his parents idea. They felt that if he came off as unattached he'd get drafted to a good team as well as get different endorsements. I wanted AJ to be a secret because I didn't want it to seem like I was using her as a way for him to stay. Or that I got pregnant in an attempt to fix our relationship. Although AJ wasn't planned she's the best thing that came out of my marriage and I didn't want her to be exposed to all the shit that comes with having famous parents. It's getting harder and harder keeping her a secret but I know that it's worth it because she gets to have a normal life."
"I can understand that and it's a breath of fresh air knowing that you don't like posting everything for the world to see. I feel the same way about when I finally get married and have children. I would want people to know but not let them in on every second of their lives. Somethings are great to be shared while other things are great to be kept private"
"Marriage and kids huh."
"It's been on my mind for a while now especially after we started dating but that's a long time for now. Why are you smiling at me like that?"
"No reason. I'm glad that I gave you a chance."
"I'm glad you did too. I have to get going but I'll call you when I get home and let me know if you can come to the charity game." I said grabbing my bag of the bed and following her out the bedroom.
"I will and be safe." she said giving me a kiss before I left for the airport.
