Malcom
"Yo Malcom, I didn't know you were about that life." my college teammate Victor said as we were doing some offseason workouts together. Victor played for the Falcons and let me crash in his guest room whenever I visited. I was in Atlanta for some photo shoots and commercials, we were in his home gym doing some light workouts before I had to get ready for a meeting. I also planned on seeing Sophia later on, since we both have been to busy to hang out in person.
"What are you talking about Victor?"
"I didn't know you were into black women."
"I've never had a racial preference when dating. As long as a woman is intelligent, confident, and beautiful I will date her."
"I get what you're saying Mal but Sophia is a real woman if you know what I mean." my other friend, Harry said setting up weights to bench press. He no longer plays football but liked to work out and stay in shape.
"I know what you mean and I honestly don't care. Sophia's the first woman I've dated that would still go out with me if I wasn't a rich quarterback or famous. She's genuine, I always have a good time with her and she shares my love for good food."
"If I didn't know any better I'd say that young Malcolm is in love," Victor said teasing me.
"It's too early for that but I can see myself looking forward to going home to her after a hard day at practice or a bad game."
"Well, I'm glad you're done with your playboy days. Now your sister can stop worrying about playing matchmaker for you and making me endure those lame ass double dates." Harry was also married to my older sister, who loved to meddle in my love life.
"I'm glad too, I honestly wasn't expecting things to get this far with Sophia."
"She turned you down didn't she?" Harry said with a laugh
"She did, some bullshit about not wanting to date another celebrity."
"I don't blame her, especially with what her ex did to her. I didn't even know her and I wanted to kick ole' boys ass for how bad he portrayed her on social media." Victor
"I'm with you on that one bro."
"What are you talking about?" I said confused, I wasn't big on social media gossip and only posted whenever I felt like it or needed to do a promo for an endorsement.
"It's not for me to tell, the media can mess up the facts so I think it's better for you to ask her about it."
"I will. I'm going by her place later so I'll ask her then. I gotta shower and get ready for this meeting. Tell Lori that I'll come by for dinner before I leave."
"Don't be an ass when you ask her," Harry yelled after me.
"I won't."
Sophia
"You know you're going to have to tell him about AJ, right?" My younger sister Sienna. We were doing our weekly FaceTime to check up on one another
"I know, I'm surprised he hasn't asked about what happened between Amari and me."
"Maybe he's waiting for you to say something about it."
"I don't know, I'm afraid that once I tell him he'll look at me differently."
"If he does that's his loss."
"You're right."
"I know I am, you should tell him soon. A picture or pictures of the two of you are bound to end up on the Shade Room or some other gossip outlet. And they are more than likely going to bring up shit that happened."
