"Is...Is that you? Is that really you?" Woojin asks shakily with widened eyes, bat still hovering in the air. His hands were shaking, but his grip on the weapon doesn't falter.
"I'm sorry for not telling you guys earlier, but I left school that day because of my uncle's viewing. And i haven't been able to go to school or contact y'all because I have to do so much for the funeral and plus my mum took my phone off me.. I'm so sorry." Chan smiles, eyeing the weapon warily, scratching his neck.
Woojin shook his head. He refused to believe him. Would he really just show up out of no where at night?
"Did something happen while I was gone?" Chan frowned, a worried look in his eyes. Even if Woojin thought it was a fake, it was still the same Chan. The same hair, same smile, same voice. Same everything.
"Y-you're not Chan... You, Jeongin and Seungmin have been missing for days, and nobody has noticed...You aren't Chan..." Woojin's grip tighten even further, his knuckles going red. The bat seemed even breakable in his hands.
"Woojin....I'm going to need you to calm down..It's me, Bang Chan! You joined our group of friends a few weeks ago!" Chan exclaimed hurriedly, not wanting the older to do something he would regret. Such as swinging the bat down and making his friend unconscious.
Woojin lowered his bat glaring, and ushered for the other to get inside. He closed the door behind him.
"If you are really Chan, then you'd know why Hyunjin got angry at you. You'd know what class you were in before lunch the day you were gone." Woojin retorted. Asking deep and specific questions could lead him to finding the answer. Was this really Chan?
"I know all of them, but how did you know....about the fight between Hyunjin and I...?" Chan asks a bit surprised. "They told me." Woojin replied. He put down the baseball bat, slightly relaxed, though not letting his guard down. They both sat on the cream leather couch, a little distance away from each other.
"Oh okay.... I was at maths and Hyunjin was angry at me because I liked Jeongin.." Chan answered softly, not wanting to recall the memory, but anything to convince the other. Woojin finally felt calm, happiness surged through him. He shot up, engulfing the younger in a loving warm hug.
He missed Chan so so much. The Australian was the one who introduced Woojin to the group, and ever since then he's been so thankful for that fact. He felt like he finally found a group of friends, who he could properly bond and be comfortable with. So he was really grateful, and noticing that Chan went missing took tolls on him. How thankful he was that Chan was back. How relieved the others would be, Woojin couldn't wait to tell them, Chan was back.
"I miss you, no, we miss you so so much. We were so worried." Woojin felt so relieved, and before he knew it, tears were escaping from his eyes.
"I get it...but why is it such a big deal? What happened while I was gone..?" Chan questions concerned, rubbing the older's back comfortingly. He felt like he was missing out on something important, really important.
"I'll explain later. I want to explain with everyone, so let me just quickly call them." Woojin muttered, smiling happily for the first time, ever since they went missing. getting his phone from his room, calling the most recent contact.
"I think they'll be here soon enough." So Woojin and Chan killed time by catching up, cooking carbonara for all to enjoy.
In around fifteen minutes, the doorbell went off and Woojin answered it with no fear, unlike earlier. He gestures for Chan to stay in the kitchen, and the Australian nods, throwing a thumbs up. Woojin answers the door, and in walked five boys, hands occupied.
"What is it Woojin? Do you finally know where Chan, Seungmin and Jeongin are??" Jisung asks, plopping down onto the sofa, the others mirroring his actions.
Woojin doesn't answer, his mind occupied by what he noticed. He noticed the dark circles under Hyunjin's eyes, and his messy state. He felt so bad for the younger, he looked so miserable. Everyone had put what they were holding on the table, papers and much more. But what stood out to Woojin, was the disc put down by Jisung.
"What's the disc Jisung?"
"I haven't told everyone yet, but today I skipped class. I went to check Jeongin and Chan's locker, since there might be something like Seungmin's. Inside Jeongin's, was his stuff AND Chan's stuff. Inside Chan's was the disc and a paper that says the usual. I watched the disc with Felix earlier before you called." Jisung explained to everyone, and they all nodded.
"Hey, I smell something cooking...." Minho states. He was really hungry, and felt like it would be better to eat before talking for a long time with empty stomachs.
"Later." Changbin says to him.
"So what is it?' Felix looks at the oldest, who takes a deep breath before responding.
"Chan's back."
