A Date

After the game even though it was still raining Matt walked up to me and said, "Do you wanna go to the Deep Blue with me tonight?"
"Yes," I replied. The Deep Blue was a really good seafood place in town. Since our small city of Cliffcoast was seaside, seafood was easy access. He drove us to the restaurant which is like 5 miles down the road from the hospital. My mom works at the hospital as a nurse. Anyway, when we arrived half the school was there because it was game night and that sort of our hang out place. Just before I was about to open my door, Matt did. Could he be anymore sweet than he already was? When we sat down he pulled out my chair for me. Aaaa. I really really like him.
After we ordered our food (we were going to share the crab legs plate) the drinks came. We both got pineapple punch. We were talking about how Mr. Friddle, our biology teacher, was so boring when out of nowhere he said, "Today has been the best day of my life."
"Yeah. You won your game and I made the volleyball team."
"I didn't only win the game. I won you and a date with you."
I blushed. I couldn't help it though. "Your not the only one who won a date. And I won you to."
He smiled. That's when our food came. I had never ordered the crab legs plate before but I was glad we were sharing because there had to have been at least twenty legs. I was also glad that our waiter gave us claw crackers otherwise, I would've had trouble eating dinner.
While I was in the middle of cracking a leg I saw Matt stare a me with a smirk.
"Do you need help with that," he said.
"No.....I....got it." As soon as I said that the leg busted open. We both laughed at my struggling.
Our waiter came by and asked if we wanted dessert and we agreed on cheesecake with strawberry filling. It was delicious. Since we still had about three quarters of the cheesecake left, he let me take it all home.
Before I opened the door of my house to go in, I turned back to look at Matt behind me. We both leaned in. As we kissed, he slipped his hands around my waist and I wrapped my hands around his shoulders. We pulled each other in for a few seconds then we split apart. He looked into my eyes. I looked into his. I felt that weird thing again then we broke our gaze.
"Goodnight," he whispered giving me a peck on the forehead.
   "Goodnight," I whispered back.
I walked into the house smiling. While I was dropping my things of on the console, Brian ran up to me a gave me me hug. He ran and sat on the couch while I put up my cheesecake.
"Who was that boy with you on the porch?" Mom asked. Oh my gosh. How did she see us? I was going to tell her anyway but how did she see us?
"Um, just Matt."
"I saw you two from my bedroom window. That didn't look like 'just Matt,'" she said.
"Fine. It was Matt. Matt Stork as in my boyfriend if you must know."
"Aaaaa. I see. He's the one that's been taking you to volleyball tryouts, right?"
"Yes and he took me to dinner at Deep Blue earlier. There's some leftover cheesecake in the fridge."
"Ok. I might eat some tomorrow," mom said as she walked up to her room with dad. I sat on the couch and watched TV until I fell asleep.
