Her mom has just gotten off the phone with Braden's parents when he came busting through the door in that silly way of his. Haylee's mom told him she was in her room and that's how they ended up arguing over her choice of clothes.
"How old are you?!" He asked with a slightly angry tone.
"I'm 11 today. You know that would explain all of the party decorations in the back yard." She stated sarcastically. It was May 22, so while she was 11, he was not yet 14. That birthday would be celebrated in September.
"You can't dress like that! Girls my age dress like that!" He said, gesturing to her crop top and denim skirt, that in his eyes was definitely too short. "You're going to give boys the wrong idea! Who even lets you dress like that!? Does your mom know you dress like that?"
"Actually she bought these clothes for me. They were a birthday gift." She said cheerfully. "What does it matter to you anyway?" Braden just rolled his eyes and stormed out, probably going to talk to her mother about her choice of clothes for a 11 year old.

They sat in a circle around Haylee as she opened her gifts. Most of which were clothes and gift cards and cash. The last gift was slid her way by Braden who waited patiently while she unwrapped in that weird way of hers, so she didn't rip the paper. She opened the box to find a bracelet nestled inside. He scooted next to her and pulled out a key chain. The bracelet had a single charm the said Be Fri stacked on top of one another. He put the key chain next to her bracket and the charms fit together. His saying St Ends. It was a pretty great day for her after all.
