A/N. Thanks, @Beautiful_Akakios for the book cover! I love it!!!!! Nice surprise!!!
Now, where was I??? *Reads the end of the first chapter* got it!!
I am laying in the grass next to the woods. I stare at the cloudless sky. I sigh thinking about this house. I finally got moved in and guess what? The place got more sketchy despite the ivy shack. My point. The won't allow us in the library or the last level which has the towers and probably nice views. Also, they won't tell us their real names.
I get up but out of the corner of my eye is see something move. I have no proof because it only left a nice 'whoosh'. I turn around and see the door of the ivy shack swinging. I feel the wind.
Probably just the wind. I thought.
I turn round and walk through the garden, the most pretty place on the property. I stroke a petal of a daisy and I feel the moisture from when Mrs.HInterson watered it his morning. I push open the oak door and walk into the dreary house. As I walk over to the kitchen the wood creaks.
Great now I can't sneak around.
I grab some orange juice and sip on it. Oscar walks in.
"Did you notice the ivy shacks door swinging open?" Oscar asks me.
"Yeah. though I think it was the wind to speak the truth."
"This place is sad like a cat being abandoned."
"Yeah, the place is sad but it is also sketchy."
"How?"
"The aura and the presence. It is like when you see someone getting murdered."
"Yeah...sorta like our parents."
"Hey! Keep your spirit up. Even though the place is depressing at least we have a roof over our heads and someone who will take care of us."
Oscar sighs, "You know your right. At least we got each other," Oscar admits.
"Yeah, we got each other to keep company. We need to stick together and work our way through this time. Like in books people don't give up and things get better."
Oscar smiles, "Yeah. Thanks, I needed that."
"Any time."
Mr.Hinterson walks in, "My wife and I need to have the room to ourselves. Go outside and play in the woods. Actually...don't. Don't want ya to get lost you little rascals."
I let out a fake laugh, "Yeah. We understand. We were planning to go outside anyway. You know to explore the shack and stuff."
"Don't go into that shack you got it? Sharp tools and dangerous stuff in there," Mr.Hinterson says his tone serious and a hint deadly.
"Yeah, no problemo," Oscar says going along.
"Ok. Stay safe and stay out of that shack and the woods. Just do kid stuff in the yard. Preferably in the front yard where we can watch you."
I grab Oscar's hand and we walk out the front door. I pull him to the side of the house.
"My point. Something is going on here and I think our aunt and uncle know something," I say.
"Yeah, what is with the ivy shack and the 'don't go into the woods' nonsense and ' Just do kid stuff in the yard. Preferably in the front yard where we can watch you.' Why do they need to keep an eye on us?"
"This house too. The library and the last floor. Let's go into the garage and get a hula hoop or something and go to the front yard. We may see what they are talking about."
