"Hey Kate" Alec says from next to me. I look up from my phone and over at him. When he looks up and sees me looking at him he gets a little more nervous. I wonder why "Can I ask you something I've wanted to ask you for a while" he asks
"Sure" I respond. I wonder if he is going to ask me out or something
"Why do you always go out with ass holes who don't value you for the amazing person you are. You deserve someone so much better" he says. Well, I guess I was wrong in thinking that he might ask me out or something
"I don't know. I guess I'm just waiting for the right guy and I guess I haven't met him yet. I guess the perfect person just hasn't come along yet" I respond
"Do you like anyone or did you like anyone" He asks
"Maybe" I respond trying not to give it away that I like him. I don't want him to know because I know he doesn't like me back and would never like me back
"Well, Kate, would you want to ever.... I don't know, date me?" he says in a really nervous way
"Wait what" I ask now in shock
"Do you want to date me?" he asks
"Sure. I mean, yes" I respond
"Wait, really?" he asks
"Yes, however, do me a favor and don't tell anyone unless they find out because I don't need anymore drama in my life right now" I respond
"You're amazing" he says
"I'm really not but okay" I respond as James gets back into the car
"What did I miss" he asks
