chapter 25 - denial and anxiety (YAY)

~izuku's POV~

"what are all of these people doing here?"

"this is totally insane!!"

"do you students have some sort of business with our class?"

"why are you people blocking the doorway? I WON'T LET YOU HOLD US HOSTAGE!!"

bakugou brushed past me. and took a quick glance at y/n. "they're just here to scout out the competition, idiots. we survived the villains, they're just wondering if it's true." he swung his bag over his shoulder and left the classroom. kacchan is too bold to go out when most of them probably don't really like him either.

"at least they know what a future pro looks like." please don't say it... "get outta my way extras!" he made it worse.

uraraka instantly called out in surprise. "you can't just call other people extras!! it's not polite bakugou!" Tenya called while waving his arm in the air.

I looked at y/n, who looked everywhere but at bakugou. had something happened? I was in a meeting with all might when she had to go to her new training lessons. but she never did really say how it went. she bit her lip and continued to seem nervous. I needed to know what was bugging her. 

~y/n's POV~

STOP THINKING LIKE THAT!

NO WAY IN A MILLION YEARS!

he's a jerk to izu-kun, and everyone else, got a salty attitude, and will definitely beat me up in the next training lesson! and shouto! I can't just abandon shouto!

so why, why, why, WHY, can't I look at him??? 

just, DO IT!

It took all my courage to glance up at him as he left, and we met eyes. my stomach did an IMMEDIATE 180 and I fought the urge to scream. 

OH GOD! I DO!

HELL NO!

I mentally decided it was best to just ignore him until I stopped with this silly nonsense. just. dont look at him! simple! simple! 

I bit my lip and took a deep breath. I got this. I got this!  izuku tapped my on the shoulder. "hey, are you okay?" I opened my mouth to say "I'm fine." but he interrupted me. "a-and, please don't say you are, even though I'd really like for you to be fine.  because... you've been acting weird all morning!" he stuttered. "sorry."

I smiled. "no izu-kun I'm not fine. I actually think I have a cru-"

"huh. so this is the hero course, the people who survived an attack from real villains, impressive, but you..." he glanced to bakugou. "just sounded like an ass. is everyone in the hero course delusional or just you?" I widened my eyes and the air got tense. bakugou looked like he was gonna shove his fist down that guys throat if he said one more thing.

"I just came here and found a bunch of ego-maniacs." he looked at everyone. his eyes cold when they paused on me. he muttered something and turned his attention back to bakugou. "I really wanted to get into the hero course, but many others here I was forced to take another path." he sighed and put his arm behind his neck. "I didn't cut it the first time around, but now, I have another chance. if any of us do well in the sports festival, they can decide to transfer us to the hero course. and then, they'll have to transfer people out of it too."
