A/N: Heyo! I'm back from my break and I'm ready to be updating back on schedule! Let's get iiiit! I'm sooo sorry for my long departure. Without further ado! A chapter that ya'll have been waiting for. Chapter 13 of "Alive" [Art credit goes to ZeroChan (again)]
Connor's POV
As (Y/n) and Connor pulled up to an average looking house (Y/n) seemed to be different. Pushing past that thought, he stepped out of the immobile vehicle after she had gotten out herself. The two of them walked to the front door that was painted an off-white with a translucent window at eye level. Before he had the chance, (Y/n) reached for the small button to the left of the door and pushed it. Within a matter of minutes, there stood Dr. Kavin in her casual attire.
A 5'5 woman that had her green knitted shawls draped across her shoulders with a simple white shirt and light blue jeans. She had long hair that faded from a dark red to a light pink towards the bottom that had reached her shoulder bone with the front two stands pulled back into a braid, but the rest left flowing down her back. A pair of rectangular black glasses balanced themselves on the bridge of her slightly crooked nose. "Can I help you?" She questioned with a smile.
"Its been a hot minute, Dr. Kavin." (Y/n) greeted jokingly.
"I thought I recognized you, Detective." She chuckled and looked over to Connor. "Afternoon, Connor."
"Good Afternoon, Dr. Kavin. If you don't mind, we have some questions to ask regarding an investigation of a homicide. We believe you knew the victim. Does the name Willamina Ranchero spark any interest?" Connor resorted to his default spiel of interrogation.
"Mina?! She's dead?!" Dr. Kavin exclaimed.
"We're sorry to inform you of your loss but there was a note that was addressed to you." Connor reached into his side pocket and pulled out an evidence bag with the sticky note inside.
The doctor stood there in total shock. She seemed lost like a child who lost their parent in the supermarket. "U-Uh, come in." She stepped aside holding the door for both to walk into the much warmer interior. Connor had noticeably seen that (Y/n) was glancing around, possibly analyzing the littlest details in design. She is... adorable when she's focused. REFOCUSING ON INTENDED MISSION. He shook his head lightly to clear his head of the... questionable... thought he was having. "I-I'm sorry for the mess. My husband and I hadn't been able to clean up for a while."
"You have a husband?" (Y/n) imputed on the investigation still wandering around the open room gazing at all the photos in picture frames displayed on the walls.
"Ah yes, he's upstairs right now. Would you like for me to get him?" She asked trembling as she pointed up the stairs.
"That isn't necessary." (Y/n) answered without prying her (e/c) eyes away from the wall décor. "I don't mean to pressure you, Dr. Kavin, but could we start? "
"For the time being, you can call me Bernadette." She slowly takes a seat on the dark oak brown pleather couch while motioning for both her and Connor to take a seat across from her on the two armchairs. They took up the offer and took their temporary places. While (Y/n) was getting situated in her chair he looked up to the uneasy doctor. A quick analyzation reported that her heartbeat went from the average 78 beats per minute to 111 beats per minute. With her quickening heartbeat, her hands seemed to be fiddling with one another as she occasionally took glances out the window.
"Doctor, are you well enough to continue with this interview?" Connor questioned analyzing her stress level as he asked.
"I-I'm fine. All this is just... terrible!" She exclaimed.
