A/N: I'll spare you the dying cliffhanger and get straight into the chapter. (Art Credit goes to Quantic Dream)

(Y/n)'s POV

"Delton (L/n)." Bernadette answered with the one answer you'd been suspecting from the start. Back at the hospital when I first met her. I nearly could recognize her. But from what I remember of her she was more of a dark shadow in the back of my mind. Dad never showed me any pictures; only described to me in words what she was like.

"I reckon that you didn't always have this vibrant choice of hair color then." You tried to joke to ease yourself; it did work.

"Of course not. I used to have (H/c) colored hair, but when I eloped with Taylor, I changed my hair to a dark blue and purple, then to a lime green and yellow, and so on. My co-workers call me a walking Skittle. Not only that, but I've changed my name as well." She explained. "I do so that... so there's no possibility of either Delton nor my daughter finding me. I just want to leave them behind me."

That last few words struck you right through your heart. Any bond you wish you had with your biological mother for the last 21 years was destroyed within that one sentence. That one damned sentence. "Bernadette... Are you... aware that Delton (L/n) has been dead for three years now?" Your breathing was becoming irregular and your chest started to spasm. Tears jerked at the corner of your eyes, but you quickly pulled yourself together. One thing you couldn't stop was the pain. The scar that took ever so long to heal was slashed open once again for the contents inside to spill out onto the cold ground.

"What?!" She exclaimed.

"He was found dead in his vehicle in front of his delivery job. Cause of death was asphyxiation. Reports say he committed suicide because everything was too much for him to handle. His daughter was on crutches, he was behind in bills... his wife left him alone." You slowly looked up at the woman that you were now despising. Despising because she ruined your life! He wouldn't have killed himself if you hadn't left! HE WOULD'VE STILL BEEN HERE IF YOU HADN'T LEFT!!

"Th-There's no way... There's n-no way he did that." She shook her head while glimmering streams continued to stroll out. "There's no way! That man was headstrong through my torment for two years, and trust me, I was a bitch from hell."

"What are you trying to say?" You furrowed your brow.

"There is no possible way he would kill himself! Especially with (Y/n) injured. He adored her with all his heart." She lowered her head wiping away the streams.

"So you're saying that-" You were cut off.

"Jesus Christ! I thought you were a detective! I'm saying he was murdered!" She raised her voice. The choice of words took you by surprise. Is she really being serious? Is his death a joke to her?! You started to ball up your fist in anger until the overwhelming feeling of depression flowed over your trembling figure which contradicted your tightened grip. But you couldn't help but be a tad more curious to her claim. You had to admit, you were suspicious that first night you found out.

You looked over at the door with furrowed brows and a forming headache to see the concerned android was standing in a stance that was ready to pounce into action. "Don't worry, Connor. It's nothing to worry about. We're just wrapping up here. Could you do me a favor and warm up the car?"

Connor's gaze still seemed on high alert continuously bouncing his attention to the two on the couch to you. But every time his eyes landed on you, he seemed... calm? His LED on the side of his perfect face had flashed a warm summer yellow before simply nodding and leaving the house. But before he could leave, he caught a glimpse of Taylor. You started to panic.
