What Is this? (Chapter 3)

~Several Years Later. Harry is about to be 16~

Harry sighed inwardly, trying not to make too much noise as he did so. He was waiting patiently for sleep to engulf him with warm open arms however, this fate was taking an entirely different turn. The thought of Hogwarts loomed over him like a blankets; memories rushing like a hurricane. He swiftly sat up in his over used bed, fliching as he did so. His back stung fiercely, burning his back as though on fire; his last beating was brutal. Ever since that Dumbledore came so long ago, his 'aunt and uncle' had treated him like a test subject. Running all types of experiments, not the ones you would think however. No, these were ones that contained weapons. So many weapons. His scars wouldn't fade, they would always haunt him. He couldn't look in the mirror without flinching.
'Why me?' He often thought, drowning in self pity.

Several hours passed, swiftly going unnoticed by the boy who was currently holding in an agonising scream; the pain was unbearable. Each minute that passed felt like an eternity for Harry, his back burned with a sensation a normal human being wouldn't want to feel, let alone survive. His eyes trickled with tears, threatening to fall from his once emerald eyes. He stumbled backwards into his broken bed, tripping over various items before painfully collapsing into the wooden bed frame. A satisfying crack echoed throughout the hauntingly silent home. 'Great' He thought, 'That's a broken rib...' He stood up, much to his bones dismay.

Harry stumbled towards his broken mirror; Dudley smashed it by looking at it. What he saw was not normal. He studied the boy in front of him, looking with curious eyes as he quickly noticed his lack of glasses. He swirled round to see them cracked on his wooden floor board, shattered in tiny pieces. He drew his attention to the bigger matter at hand; his appearance.
