After my old friend walked away and I received my supplies, I decided to go to the bookstore to get the new book I've been wanting. When I finally walked through the door of the store, the wonderful smell of books, papers, and coffee entered my nose. I exhaled loudly and nearly jogged to the section where I knew the book would be. As I reached for the book I wanted, my hand collides with another hand reaching for the book beside mine. I quickly jerked my hand back and stared at the owner of the intruding hand. It was a boy who had shaggy brown hair and bright blue eyes. "Um...hey." His voice caused me to blush. Wait. Blush? Me? "Oh no. No, no, no, no, no. This can't be happening to me. Oh no." I muttered, almost crazily. "Is something wrong, Miss?" his voice drifted to my ears again. I jumped to my feet and grabbed the collar of his blue Secondhand Serenade shirt. "I love your shirt, BUT you made me blush! I blushed! I never blush! what did you do to me? Oh gosh, if Quinn ever found out about this, she'd be teasing me faster than you can say unicorn. Oh no. I'm doomed!" I exclaim, dropping to the floor with tears in my eyes. I just sat awkwardly on the floor while the boy stared at me with just as much awkwardness. "Seriously. Are you okay?" he asked, tentatively. "Physically, yes. Mentally, I'm not so sure! Oh and don't even think about putting another spell on me!" I yelled out. "Okay?" he said, though it sounded more like a question. I decided to see if a boy like him actually belonged in a bookstore. "Okay." I finalized. "OMG! Stop flirting with me!" he quoted The Fault in Our Stars. We looked at each other for about ten seconds with the most serious faces ever. Then, whatdda ya know? We fell to the floor, laughing our nerdy butts off. After a few moments of laughter, we composed ourself and stood up. "So what book were you gonna get?" the nameless boy questioned to rid us of the pest known as Awkward Silence. "Oh, it's a really good book called Dragon's Blood. They say it's really good. Plus, it's a part of my favorite series." I explained, picking up the book. "Hey...um...I was wondering if you would maybe like to go get coffee with me. I-if you want to, if course." he stammered. "I would love to. Let's just go drop off my bags at my house and then we can head off to the cafe." Before I could reach for my bags, the boy grabbed them all for me with ease. We swiftly walked out of the bookstore and to my house, where we snuck in. delivered the bags, and exited the house ninja-style before my mum or my 'beautiful' brother could stop us. We snickered all the way to the cafe where we were having coffee at. "I just realized. I have no idea what your name is." I stated as we sat down at the booth we were seated at. "Oh, yea. I'm Jace. Jace Rosethorn." I stood up and playfully bowed to him. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Rosethorn. The name is Grey. Melody Grey." I confidently introduced myself, sitting down.
