Chapter Nine: The Truth

"Why did you lie to me?" my mother asked

I was afraid you'd take me out of that school and is never see Todd again. but I didn't say that.

"I didn't think it mattered" is what I said.

"Didn't think it mattered, you got punched."

And life goes on is what I thought.

"Please don't take me out of this school, the only way I'm going to learn to stand up for myself is if you let me go to school tomorrow."

"Okay, but don't let this happen again and if it does tell me the truth."

My mom left my room. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs but that wasn't the way to handle things so I went for a run. I ran until my lungs were on fire. I walked home.

When I got home I see a strange man standing in the middle of my living room with my mother watching him like a hawk. I walked slowly toward the man. we almost never have visitors. the man started to tear up when I introduced myself. The man hugged me. I fell back a few steps. I mean this man wasn't tiny.

"Who are you?" I ask demanding an answer

"I'm your dad" the man said"
