Beyond appearance

Carter

Mason refused to tell me where we were going. I kept asking and asking where we were going. After awhile he stopped answering and stopped looking at me. He just continued to drive and drive and drive. I went to turn on the radio but stopped when he pulled into an old gravel parking lot. He quickly got out of the car and looked at the view of the trees and the mountains. You could see the rivers flowing into a lake and see the birds flying into mangled stacks of old fallen trees.

"Mason why are we here? I mean it's beautiful but why out here."

" in a while we will be graduated no more nights of wandering where our lives will go, no more crying over Adrian no more anything. It's moments like these we need to hold so dear."

We stood standing still and quiet at the beauty that beholds us. We watched as nature took its course with the animals and woods. The air seemed much cooler up here. Well that was until I fell asleep. I didn't notice that I did until I woke up with my head on Mason.

"I am very sorry."

"Don't be babe."

"Uh ok but doesn't me falling asleep on you get annoying."

"Actually no I find you absolutely adorable when you sleep."

We sat in silence for awhile as the wind blew through our hair. After a large breeze we heard a car pull up and we quickly turned around to see that it was the rest of our crew. Blaine and Charlie sat next to me and Yvonne and mykah sat next to me. We all sat looking out at a land of opportunity.

"Guys I just want to say thank you." I say not looking at any of them. " you guys have dealt with all my ups and downs and you guys never gave up."

Everyone scooted closer together. Its times like these that make me glad I'm alive. There are very few things in this world that are even marked as special. Actually most things that are "special to people is pain and intolerance. Like Adrian for example he thinks its so special that he causes me pain and misfortune. It's as if someone is telling Adrian to be the way he is. What we hold and what others hold as special could be totality different than other persons. Just like having goals would be different than everyone elses. At least one thing for the group is true, our beliefs. We believe that people, regardless of pain caused to us deserves a second chance. We believe that everyone has something different and important to give the world. We believe everyone deserves a chance at any and everything. Last but not least we believe that no one should ever be given up on.

Mason

As we scoot closer together my life feels complete. All my friends are here and the love of my life is beside me. It's funny isn't it, how I was someone who didn't care about carter. How at the beginning I smacked him for helping. Now look how far I've come I'm in love with him. I defend him from that god awful Adrian. I really don't understand that kid. He loves to enflict pain on all of us. That just comes to show that people can love different things. Some people love pain, some love dogs, some love alone time, and some love having fun but one thing is the same, they love. I know it sounds weird but its true. Everyone loves at least one thing just like our group. Actually we love alot of things we love life, we love people, we love gifts, and we love each other. Life can be hard but without love you can't accomplish anything. Say what you will but once you think about it it's true. Love is more powerful than the strongest weapon on the planet.

Blaine

This year has been hard. Mason was dead and then not dead, carter has been in the hospital along with Adrian. Everyone has went through something one way or another and yet Charlie hasn't left me. Just like we haven't left each other. When Mason disappeared I stepped in as Carters guard. I knew he needed help so I helped him. A lot of people do that just like alot of people defend whom they love. Just like the soldiers defend their country because they love it. Love causes pain but pain causes love. I for one believe that pain can be rewarding in its own way. Pain makes you stronger. Pain helps you make who you are. Its not what you feel, its what you do with the feeling that counts.

Yvonne

Our lives, or even the life of anyone, has at least one problem that they can't shake. Whether it be a feeling or a person or a personal issue. Whatever it may be doesn't mean it defines a person. What defines a person is the actions they take when dealt with a bad hand at life. Much like everyone here most bad situations have people thrive. Like Masons disappearance, carter was in a slump but he got through it and also being an inspiration to most people and then Mason returned giving a wrap to a great inspiring tale. None of us know what will happen next but we know we'll get through it, as a family.

Mykah

Life long freinds are hard to find they. They are even the most important thing ever. They are there when your family isn't and they support you in everything. Freinds is a term thrown around a lot but not many people have "true freinds" not sure if you do. Look around next time you hang with friends, see if you laugh at the same things they do. See if you know personal things about them. See if they along with you would do anything for each other. If yes to all then you have a freind that you should never let go. Never take them for granted because some day, they could be gone. Thats the point between us sitting on a cliff we would do anything for each other. We laugh, we cry, we joke, and goof off but the most important thing is that we stand by each other no matter what happens.

Sorry this chapter wasn't very eventful. I wanted to give insight on the characters thoughts and intuitions.

Each character is based off of a real person that I know and I wanted to show that no matter how serious or goofy a person is, they always think differently and brings their own gift to the world.
