Hampton's Paradise [Sequel to The Other Lodge]

The Party

Cheryl and I are searching for some business people to talk to. Surprisingly, a mobster couple approches us.

"Jade, Cheryl" Greet the woman.

"Miss and Mister St Clair. It's been quite some time..." I say politely.

"You can say that..." Nick's father whispers.

"We wanted to apologize for the troubles our son put you through, mainly you miss Blossom." Miss St Clair says. "I hope things are better between you all now because we have something to propose you Jade."

"Indeed" continues Mister St Clair "we've learned about your father real project for Riverdale and we want to put some concurrence next to him."

"You want me to work against my father?" I chuckle. "Nope, that's not going to happen."

"It's not against him, it's more like a 'be careful we're still watching you' type of thing. You will make benefits out of it we swear to you." Mister St Clair begs.

"What is your idea?" Cheryl asks.

"Creating a surveillance society. The only one in Riverdale, you will have all the market for yourself. It will help you to watch out your father's business and we could keep an eye on the videos to choose which inmates are the best so we can recruit them."

"And why will we work with you?" I raise my eyebrow.

"We're willing to give you a lot of money to start the company, plus you will have control on everything going on in a Riverdale. You will be the only one to protect them with this technology so you will earn a lot of money and you will be inside your father's business too." They explain.

"Well, we'll think about it. For now, if you don't mind, we have someone to talk to."

I say with a quick smile and we walk towards a private space of the room.

"Are you really considering working with the St Clair?" Cheryl asks.

"They are powerful and they have the money Cheryl, maybe it can be clever to have them by our side at the beginning." I whisper.

"You're joking right? Did you forget Ronnie stole them 1 million, what do you think they will do with you?"

I can't say anything... she might be right after all...

"Okay lovebirds, we need you now. Elio is ending his talk with Myles, Savannah is the next in line but Josie we'll have to walk by soon soooo...."

"Distraction. We got it." Cheryl says and angrily walks to where the action is.

She waits for me and fakes a laugh. She giggles like a drunk girl and then turns around hitting Myles McCoy in the back.

"What the fuck?!" He yells.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there sir. How can I make it up to you?" Cheryl apologizes.

"Mister McCoy?" I fake surprise. "What a surprise! What are you doing here in the Hampton?" I smile at him shaking his hand.

"Jade Lodge." He smiles a bit. "A girl with sense of business and good music taste. It's a rare combo nowadays."

"I'll be happy to talk about music with you again, Mister McCoy." I say.

"I would love to but I'm not staying here for long. What are you doing here anyway? With my daughter's best friend moreover?" He looks at me suspiciously.

"Oh, Cheryl is my girlfriend Mister McCoy, we're in holiday in the Hampton, you know to get away from Riverdale and all that happened recently. Yet, I'm not going to lie, if I can do a little business, I will with pleasure." I chuckle and he does too.
