It was silent for a second then one of the doctors asked: "What do you mean you can't see?" 

"I mean, I, CAN'T SEE!!!" Lance yelled in the general direction of the doctor. The doctor flinched, fell over and several other Sifo rushed over to them. Lance was panicking "I can't see, I can't see, I. Can't. See!" He repeated as he started to shake and his voice started to crack. 

Keith didn't like seeing Lance scarred like this so he moved over to him and wrapped his arms around him and hugged him. "I'm here," he told him.

 Lance gripped him like a lifeline and mumbled "gracias mi Amor" into his shoulder

"Huh?" said Keith as he looked at Lance.

"Nothing" Lance dismissed his questions and squeezed him harder.  

The doctors were running to and fro, going to machines typing something in then rushing away to go do something else, they all seemed to be getting more and frantic as time went on. "is there something wrong? you can fix this right?" Shiro asked one of the doctors rushing by, it tried to speak but it only managed a couple stuttered words before it ran out of the room tripping on its way out. "Well that was-" Shiro was interrupted when the leader of the Sifo, to which they had been introduced to earlier, came running in the room white robes billowing behind him.

"You need to get out of here now." He told them, "you're not safe here, they've come for your friend. No time to explain, just, get to your lions!" After a brief moment of shock, the paladins grabbed Lance and ran, to where they had parked the lions.

Keith grabbed Lance and pulled him into Red and flew out of the cave into the sky.  

"What's going on?! Pidge!? Hunk!? anyone!? What's happing?!" Lance shrieked

"Lance, Calm down. Its Keith, you need to breathe. We're in the red lion right now, okay? Just calm down."

The rest of the lions soon caught up with Keith and Shiro started yelling orders, "Pidge, Hunk, take up the rear end of the (evil)hoard and I'll take the front, Keith, you get Lance to the castle then get back here as soon as possible." 

Keith nodded and started flying towards the castle  

They reached the castle Keith parked red and scoped up Lance into his arms. "We're at the castle now," he told the blinded Lance as he carried him to his room. "I'm going back into the battle but you just rest here." He hesitated when Lance made a small squeaking noise "Hey it'll be... fine." He assured, "I'm sure it's only temporary." 

"You don't know that!" Lance intercepted he was looking the wrong way but Keith still felt the full force of his words. "what if I never see again?! Will I be able to fight? And I'll never really see my family again and... and." He stuttered to a stop and let out a small sob 

Keith didn't know what to do. Here was Lance spilling out all his worries about his family and the team and all Keith could do was stare at him. "I uh... I'm sorry Lance." 

He wiped his eyes and tried to turn away from him but ended up just facing him better. "Whatever mullet." He huffed. 

Keith took a step forward and turned Lance's face so he was facing the wall, he let out a huffed laugh and hummed, "There you go, idiot," Then he left. 

When he heard the door slide close Lance let out a breath and sighed "Stupid mullet." 

He would soon realize that he might never see that beautifully, ugly mullet ever again. But at this moment he just let his mind rest on the last image of Keith he had.

Crouched down on the ground clutching his hand and yelling at the team in frantic terror for Lance. 

He smiled and laid down on what he assumed was his bed, patted his hands around until he found the pillow, closed his eyes that he hadn't realized were open, and finally, went to sleep. 

Back to Keith

They weren't winning. That much was obvious. 

The lions were pretty beat up and the castle was just barely holding up the particle bearer while also trying to open up a portal. 

Keith smashed into a ship that was about to hit pidge and yelled over the comms "How much longer of this!! We cant take this without Voltron!!!" Just then a larger ship aimed a blast at Shiro and hit. 

"SHIRO" They all screamed as their leader went down. Keith was halfway down when he saw a galra ship open up its hanger and catch black inside. 

"NO!!" He screamed and shot forward faster than before ignoring all the smaller ships shooting at him and focusing all his force into reaching the ship with Shiro in it. 

Just then, "Paladins! Return to the castle now!! The portal is ready to be opened!!" came Allura over the comms. 

"No!! We can't leave Shiro!!" Protested Hunk while Keith still chased the ship with Shiro in it not even hearing or acknowledging Allura's call to retreat. 

But before he could stop it, the ship was beamed up by the mothership which then hyper-speed out of there. "FOLLOW THEM!!" Keith roared but Hunk rammed him into the castle and they portaled out of there. 

They had to use a tranquil to keep Keith from going off and finding Shiro and end up killing himself in the process. 

They also Locked Pidge in her room and closed off the vents so she couldn't climb out. 

They waited until morning to break the news to Lance. Not that he took it any better. 

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY TOOK SHIRO!?!?!" 

H-HEY G-G-GUYSSSSSS.
