Entry 25 - Sophylia's Journal

He has a girlfriend.

In bid to convince self that am not one bit affected by Nicholas having certain affections for some nobody, am reading Ishiguro at a Costa near Marcus's place. Not sure if it's particular helpful; Ishiguro only gets me ever more contemplative.

You see, the problem isn't that the girl he's describing sounds awful, like Janice. Janice, by the way has attached herself to some YouTube star of the garbage sort, and in the process seems to have decided to forego her university education. Not that I really care. The point is, this new girl, Elle (what a pretty name too), actually seems nice, and good. On paper, of course. The first traits Nicholas mentioned of her weren't her physical attributes or academic prowess, but her alleged inbred kindness and fortitude of character. Something which, if I should say so, I too possess. Her pretty face and Cambridge degree (2:1, guess no one's perfect) only cropped up later in the conversation courtesy of my obligatory need to pry.

I suppose I'm happy for him.

If only that's the impression I'd given him during our meal. But no, Sophylia the bitch just had to come out to play.

summergirl98: he's seeing this new girl, some Elle or whatever

lilybug: well that's new... what happened then?

summergirl98: well I didn't know that, so naturally I went all passive-aggressive and might have gotten a little snippy

lilybug: oh gosh

summergirl98: oh right lunch was delicious! thanks for the treat

summergirl98: nick, how many times must I say I'm happy for you?

summergirl98: or better still, just don't talk at all for now
