Chapter 9

The next morning, she wakes up with her head on his chest, once again. It's warm and comfy and he seems to still be asleep. She carefully stands up, trying not to wake him and disappears into the bathroom. Somehow they got into her room, yesterday evening.

She wanted this to happen so bad, but she still feels anxious about talking about it with Harvey. Even though it didn't feel like he felt nothing last night, she knows him well enough to know that he's a champion at running away from his feelings.

She can't think straight and after she took a shower, she just walks around in the apartment, agitated. Then she hears a door closing and sees him disappear into the bathroom.

She has to talk to him. Soon.

„Donna? Donna!" a voice brings her back to reality.

„Oh, Rachel..sorry." Donna says and gives her a smile.

„What's wrong?" Rachel asks immediately.

She doesn't know her friend like that. So far away from the reality, lost in her thoughts.

„I..I need to talk about that with somebody else first..but how was your date with Mike yesterday evening?" Donna replies and Rachel understands.

Rachel immediately sensed that something happened between Harvey and Donna.

„Okay, but if you wanna talk, I am here." Rachel adds and gives her friend a smile.

„Thank you." Donna whispers and encourages Rachel with an raising eyebrow to finally tell her about yesterday evening.

„It was great. Seriously...I am happy." Rachel summarizes and smiles genuinely.

„You two are great together..I am so happy for the both of you!" Donna replies and hugs her friend.

„Come on, let's make some breakfast for the boys." Rachel proposes and they walk over to the kitchen.

While they are eating together, Mike tells them some funny stories about the previous night, he spend with Rachel at a restaurant. Donna and Harvey barely comment on his stories, what is pretty unusual for them. Mike and Rachel notice the slight change in their friends' dynamic, but understand also, that they need to talk first, before they are allowed to make witty comments. So, they leave them alone, at least for now.

As soon as they had cleaned up the kitchen and Mike and Rachel left the room, Harvey stands up to leave, too. Donna carefully grabs his arm to stop him.

„Listen, Harvey..I think we need to talk about yesterday..." Donna says quietly, letting go of his arm.

„What's to talk about?" Harvey asks then, still feeling her touch on his arm.

Her hands are so soft and warm. It immediately brings back memories of the previous night.

„You know..what happened between us." Donna clarifies and watches his reaction very closely.

„Okay." Harvey says and nods.

„I just don't want this to get between our friendship." Donna explains.
