CARTER POV
Liza. She's absolutely beautiful...almost too beautiful. No girl has ever stopped me in my tracks until today. She had fiery red hair that had a beautiful wave, perfect. Her tall figure was also nothing less than perfection, wearing an all black attire as she stood by herself in the empty school hallway. Her look gave off a tough stylish edge, which somehow seems to suit her. This new girl and her younger sister have been the topic of conversation in every part of Portland High today.
"Whats with the younger girl? Sounds like The Queen of England rode her royal carriage into New York."
"Well the other one seems like a bitch."
"Are they even related? Surely doesn't look it..."
Despite the harsh gossip surrounding the sisters everyone's eyes are on them, boys in literally every grade planning to "hit that" before the year is over. Wonderful...like every girl wants to screw the guys at this school...
Speaking for myself I've not slept with a boy and never have had the desire to. I pretty much have always known that I liked girls. They have a softer persona than men yet a fierceness to them. They're the whole package...literally. As for Liza there was something that captured me the most about her, those eyes. At first they were a piercing green that had me lost in them. Then all I could see was a vivid pain, hiding her face from me as if my very presence was tormenting her. And all the while her sister Evelyn gave me a look that truly sent shivers down my spine. It was one that almost felt like she was a lethal predator, not your average teenage girl by any sense of the word.
"Okay. I'm just losing it..."
I look back at the empty space next to me as the two sisters left my sight, then down to see a cell phone on the floor.
"Damn, Liza must have dropped it."
I pick it up and put it in my pocket to take with me. I must see her again.
It's the end of the school day, the phone owned by the mysterious new girl in my hand. I haven't seen Liza since this morning, not being able to take my mind off her all day. My biology teacher called her name for attendance this morning, yet I looked over to an empty chair at the table across from me. She must have been feeling too ill, or whatever it was that was bothering her. My mind couldn't stop replaying that peculiar moment in the office.
"Liza. Who is she? What could have caused her such discomfort? And why did I feel such an unsettledness when with her and Evelyn?"
All of a sudden I feel a vibration coming from the girl's phone. I look down as a text message appears on the screen.
Evelyn: See you left school early without me. Let me guess, it's because of that girl we encountered this morning. She surely had a nice neck...wouldn't you agree sister? ;)
