Our District 9

Chapter 5

April 21st, 20xx 9:56pm

The rest of the day had moved pretty slow. The kid never came out of the room, and the police never caught onto Stray Kids.

Woojin left the main room and walked to where Alex was. He opened the door and motioned for Alex to come out, but he noticed that Alex had fallen back asleep. He closed the door quietly and went back into the main room.

Each member started to fall asleep one by one, not saying a word. There are days that go by like this, where nothing happens. In a way, it's almost peaceful. No risks or anything. It's nice.

10:15pm

April 22nd, 20xx 11:47am

Stray Kids were still asleep by this time, and so was Alex. They haven't gotten this much sleep in a while. But suddenly their sleep was broken by a blaring siren. It's Friday, which means check up day.

All of them jumped up, half asleep, as they heard the siren. They all started to run around, looking for their jackets. While looking for his jacket, Woojin ran into Alex.

"Kid What are you doing?? You have to get back in that room!" Woojin demanded.

"It's not that big of a deal is it?? What's with the siren?" Alex urgently asked.

"Alex it's nothing, get back in the room and get under the bed!!" Minho yelled from the main room.

"Okay fine!!" Alex yelled back. He ran back into the room and hid under the bed. There, he found a green jacket. He knew he couldn't come out so he didn't bother to tell them.

In the main room, Felix was running around tearing everything apart while looking for his jacket.

"Seriously guys, where did you put my jacket??" Felix screamed.

"Are you kidding? You thought WE would know? You better find it Felix, this is your LIFE we're talking about here. We could never forgive ourselves if you got taken by the district! Do you remember what happened to Jisung??" Chan went on and on.

"ENOUGH! Felix. Find your jacket, or find a jacket to replace it. If need be, wear a black one." Seungmin explained.

Felix grabbed the nearby black jacket that was laying on the chair. He hoped that they wouldn't punish him too much. His one free card was also in his jacket. He had no idea what to do.

"Guys. They're here." Hyunjin pointed to the window, and there were district police cars lined up outside their house.

They all walked outside and lined up in front of the cars. A district officer stepped out and went over to Chan. He was first in line. They examined his jacket, which is black, and he continued down the line. He examined everyone else, and when he got to Felix, he stopped.

"Excuse me sir. Why are you wearing a black jacket? Are you leader now?" The officer questioned.

"N-No sir I-" Felix was interrupted.

The officer pulled out a sheet of paper. "Right here it says you have a green jacket? Where is it?" The officer stepped closer.

"I-I don't know sir." Felix made sure not to make eye contact.

"Look at me." The officer demanded. Felix made eye contact, and instantly the officer slapped him across the face.

The other members winced. They couldn't bear to watch it.

"Bring your jacket next time. If you fail to do so, I WILL take you from this group and you will never see them again. Understood?" The officer said. Felix nodded, and the officer slapped him one last time.

When the officer left, Felix ran inside and the other members followed. They all started talking to him, but Jisung went back to the room Alex was in.

"He's under the bed!" Woojin yelled to Jisung.

He nodded and kept going. When he went in the room he bent down and signaled for Alex to come out. When looking at him, he saw a green jacket next to him.

"Grab that jacket on your way out." Jisung demanded, his face carried an angry expression.

When Alex approached the door, Jisung grabbed his arm and dragged him to the main room.

"Look what the little kid found, under the exact same bed as him. And it was also conveniently placed next to him." Jisung stated.

Felix's face was blank, he didn't know what to do. This kid that they had let in nearly killed him. He charged over to Alex and backed him into a wall.

"DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU HAVE DONE KID?? I could have nearly died out there and I found out that YOU had my jacket??? Why didn't you come bring it to me huh???" Felix was about ready to punch Alex. Before he could go any further, Chan pulled him back.

"I was told to stay in the room! I didn't know it was so important!" Alex begged.

"Listen Alex, you need to be careful with this. You should have told us. Felix was punished today because of you!! Like he said, he got away easy and could have been KILLED. Maybe you don't understand how severe this is, but we definitely do!" Chan ranted.

"We should have never let him stay!" Minho interjected. Felix was in tears at this point because he was so frustrated.

"Minho he is just a kid! Give him a break!" Woojin yelled.

"No! He nearly cost my life Woojin! Is it not going through your head that I could have been killed?" Felix got out of Chan's grip and went over to the bed to sit down. Changbin sat next to him and comforted him.

"Fine! You don't want me here so I'll leave!" Alex yelled, storming out the door.

"Don't let him leave!" Changbin yelled, knowing that they could get in trouble if Alex ratted them out.

"Alex come back!" Chan yelled. Alex has already disappeared.
