Sun and Moon

The moon listened to the dripping sound
of the rainfall his heart to his eyes.
Each eye, a waterfall, drained from within --
there are cracks on the hardest stone.

The sun replaced the moon
but the rainfall continued beyond dawn.
The curtain of light covered the room
but what's left in him is darkness alone.

The sun reigned, scorching hot,
dried the river and the waterfall.
But soon the moon will rise again,
and the arid ground will moist once more.
