Sequel to Accident

"I still don't know if it's worth it." Julian admits, lifting his newborn from her bassinet. "I mean, Kim is still out there. If we go back to the city, we're going back on our deal. Whose to say she won't kill all three of us?"
"Have faith. We're going to one of the poorest parts of the city, Kim won't know we're there." Kristina says, resting her chin on his shoulder. "I want Cory to meet my family. We were so close and I haven't seen them in six months. Cory's two months old, I want her to have her grandma and aunts from as long as she can remember."
"That's like two or three, years. I'm just saying, it's been less than a year, Kim is probably still on high alert." He says.
"Julie, you need to not worry so much." She cups his cheeks and kisses him, taking Cory as she backs away. "Finish getting ready, we have to leave soon if we want to get there for dinner."
"I'll stop bitching, but I still think is a bad idea."

Later

"I can't do this." Kristina says, pulling her hand away from the door to the place she'd called home since she was little.
"Fantastic, let's leave." Julian says, turning around. Kristina grabs his shoulder and turns him around. "It's really not too late."
"Yes, it is." Kristina states, knocking on the door. It swings open, Alexis scoops Kristina up.
"Oh, my baby girl, I've missed you so much. You look so good. Come in, come in. Give me my granddaughter." Alexis takes the carrier from Julian and brings it to the kitchen, unstrapping Cory and cuddling her. "She's so beautiful. This nose, it's just too precious. If you ever take off like that again, I'll kill you."
"Oh, Ma, you know we had to." Kristina says.
"I was talking to your man. Listen, Julian, you ever keep me from my daughter and granddaughter for that long again and I'll castrate you." Alexis threatens.
"Where are Molly and Sam?" Kristina asks, trying her best to break the awkward stares between her mother and Julian.
"Working. Molly should be home soon but Sam's going to be late. I told her that at least we have a few days with you guys." Alexis says, holding Cory's head under her chin.
"I can't wait to see them." Kristina says. Her and Julian go into the house and start to set down their bags. Firefly runs after them, going straight to his favorite spot in the whole house, the kitchen sink.
"You can put your stuff in your old bedroom. I asked Sam and Molly to both use the bunk bed so you two can have Sam's bed, since you're married and all. I found Molly's crib so this little angel has a place to sleep." Alexis tells them, taking Cory over to the bookshelf, starting to show her the family pictures.
Kristina holds Julian's hands. "Can you see now why we had to come?"
"I know your family loves you and Cory, but I'm still worried that death is waiting around the corner. If it were just my ass on the line, whatever, but it's you, and Cory."
"Julian, I will die before I let anyone even think about hurting our baby girl. Trust me, we're safe here."

That Night

"Oh, Kris, Cory is the cutest baby I've ever seen." Molly beams, covering her niece's bald head in kisses.
Sam looks over at Julian. "It would've been nice to be there for her and Kristina from day one, but things just didn't work out that way."
Julian kisses Kristina's cheek as he gets up. "I'm going out. I just need some air."
As soon as he's outside, Kristina glares at her sisters. "You've been nothing but horrible to him all night. He's trying. He is terrified of his ex-wife trying to kill us. It isn't about you two. It's about keeping our daughter safe. That's all he's doing."

Julian takes a deep breath and walks into the police station. He goes over to an officers desk and leans. "I'd like to report a crime."
"I'll need your name and na-"The officer says, looking up slowly. "Oh my God, are you Ju-"
"My name's Julian Jerome, yes, that Julian Jerome. And I'd like to report a crime."

The Next Morning

"Are you going to tell me where you're bringing me?" Kristina asks, trying to push up her blindfold. Julian smacks her hand gently.
"You'll see when we get there. We're here." He stops the car and gets out, helping her out and turning her in the direction he needs her facing. He pulls of her blindfold and holds her. "Here we are."
She screams and tries to get back in the car, fighting his hug. "Why are we at your house? Kim will see us." She cries, starting to panic. "Are you crazy?"
"It's okay, it's okay." He comforts. "Kim's not there. She's in police custody. I went last night and told our story. She's going to prison. There is nothing that money can't buy."
     "So, we're safe?"
"We're free. And rich. All my money and assets are mine again. That includes the house. I'd like very much to move our family in today. That's you, me, Cory, and your mom and sisters. What do you say?"
     "Yes! Yes!"
He kisses her. "Let's go get our family."
