"How's your mistress?" Kim asks her husband as he walks into their bedroom.
"She's very well. How's yours?" Julian remarks, unbuttoning his purple shirt.
"Still six feet under, just as you left him."
"I came home to find a man on top of my wife, I was only defending you." He claims, placing his hand on his chest and rolling his eyes.
"Why are your extramarital affairs more acceptable than mine?"
"Because I've never brought it into our house or our bedroom." He states, slamming his hand down on the dresser.
"Our bedroom? You say that like you sleep here."
"This is my house, so everything is mine. I was being generous to call it our room. Nothing is yours. It is all mine. Nothing here is yours. That is how it always has been and how it always will be!"

Later

Julian drops into his office chair, turning around to face his desk. A pair of slim arms wrap around his neck. "You seem stressed." A soft voice says.
"Krissy, I can't stand the wrench. She acts like I wanted to marry her. She acts like I've had some choice in this whole fucking mess. I can't wait until she's dead."
"That's not a decent thing to say about your wife." Kristina says, starting to kiss his jaw.
"She's not my wife. She's my warden. I swear I'm a prisoner in that house, my house." He says, turning around and pulling her onto his lap. "You're the best part of my day, dear. The only part that makes me hold on to life."
She holds his cheeks, swallowing back a cry. "Woah, woah, what's wrong?" He asks.
"I think I'm being watched. Someone's been following me. I'm scared, Julian, I'm scared."
"It's Kim. She's having someone follow you. You're in danger, Kris. She's gonna have you killed, or try at least. It's revenge for Drew. I shot him and she's been looking for a way to get me back. It's why I locked my bedroom door at night, I'm afraid to wake up to a pillow over my face. We should run. Let's just run away together and start over. Let's go right now."
"I have to go home first. I have to tell my mother and sisters that I'm leaving. I can't just abandon them." She says.
"Tonight, my love. I'll get you here and seven o'clock. I'll be in my purple, late 90's model."
"Tonight, my love. I'll see you then."

A Little Later

Kristina slings her faded pink bag over her shoulder and rubs her cat's head. "Bye, Firefly. I've gotta go now. Julian's going to be waiting for me at the bar. Then we're going. I don't know where, but I know Julian will take care of us."
She walks out of her and her sisters' bedroom and into the kitchen. "Hey, Krissy, can you set the table?" Her mother asks.
Kristina puts her bag down and starts to put the plates out, finishing quickly and sitting at the spot she didn't set. Alexis looks down at her as she puts the dish of food on the table. "Did you forget yourself?"
"No, but, um, I'm not saying for dinner."
"Oh. But, I made one of your favorites. Where are you going? What are you eating?"
"I don't know about any of that. But I'm not gonna be home tonight, or tomorrow, or anytime soon. I'm leaving." Kristina tells her, looking away.
"What? You can't. Honey, why? Is it because of that man you've been seeing?"
"Yes. We're going away together. He has money, he'll take care of us. Don't worry about me. I'll come back someday to see you."
     "Kris-"
"I'm sorry, Mom. Tell Sam and Molly I love them." Kristina says, picking her bag up and running out. Alexis swallows and stares at the door.
Molly comes out of the bathroom. "Hey, Mom, I was cleaning the bathroom and I found something." She hands her mother a box. "It's an empty pregnancy test box. I don't know who's it is, but it's not mine."
     "Did you find the test?"
     "No."
     "I have to get Kristina."
