I woke up in a jail cell remembering one thing: I didn't do it. Whatever I did to get me this beautiful jail cell, I didn't do it. I don't know what I did or who did it for some reason.
The guards said I was crazy, so I hit my head on the wall one two many times that it damaged my brain and, of course, damaged my memories along with it. I don't know if it's true but I guess the story is believable. I mean, anyone could go crazy and hit their head on the wall, right?
Right.
Sharlene, the only person and guard I talk to, said that I was sentenced in jail for five years and that I've been here for four years. One more year to go and I'm out of here!
Just one more problem though, where will I go? My parents wouldn't want me back, that's for sure. They made it clear when they sent me away. My sister is probably in the college of her dreams: Yale. And I wouldn't want to bother her, now would I? Well, I guess will just stick to Plan A; figure out what to do when you get out.
"Maxine! You got a new roommate," guard Phil announced.
Yipee. The last thing I wanted was a roommate since the last one I had didn't go too well.
"Who is it?" I ask.
"Ask him yourself," he says as he pushes a dark-haired guy into the jail cell. The warden then goes to his office, probably gonna go chat with his girlfriend.
"Who are you?" I ask.
"No one important," he answers harshly.
I raise my brow and shrug as I lay back down in the bed.

I wake up because of something that dripped in my hand. Something that has a really bad odor and icky. I then realize that it was blood.
Soon it was covering up my whole arms. Then my some blood splashed on my face. When I blinked, I could see a knife in my hand.
