Harry’s POV

“Chrissie! Time to get up!” Chrissie’s mum shouts up the stairs.

“Alright!” She shouts back, her voice hoarse. Chrissie sits up in her bed and when she sees me, she jumps.

“I forgot you were here.” She says, holding her heart in fright. “Did you sleep?”

“No. Ghosts don’t sleep.” I tell her.

“Oh. What did you do all night? Did you watch me sleep?” She asks me. I laugh.

“No. That’s creepy. I walked around your house, looking for something to do most of the night. I ended up putting on the TV very quietly until about half 5.” I tell her.

“Oh. Sorry you were so bored. I didn’t realise you didn’t sleep.” Chrissie says.

“It’s alright. I don’t mind I’m used to it by now…and I didn’t get much sleep when I was alive anyway.” I tell her.

“Tour?” She asks. I nod my head. “I wish I could’ve come to one of your concerts.”

“You didn’t like me though.” I say.

“I know, but I wish I did. I watched some videos of your concerts and they looked amazing.” She tells me. How much has she searched up about me? Even though I know millions of girls do it, knowing Chrissie does it feels weird. We’re like best friends.

“Can you get out now so I can get dressed?” Chrissie asks, pointing to the door.

“Of course.” I say, walking backwards through her door. When I turn around I come face to face with Chrissie’s mum. I jump back in fright but then realise she can't see me.

“Chrissie, who were you talking to?” She asks as she enters Chrissie’s room.

“Mum!” Chrissie shouts. “Can’t you knock?”

“Yes but I wanted to try and catch who you were talking to.” She says.

“Well there’s no one here. Can you get out now so I can get dressed?” Chrissie asks.

“Okay. Sorry. I’ll knock next time.” Her mum says.

“Thanks.” Chrissie says as her mum leaves the room. Chrissie shuts her bedroom door and I walk down stairs. I want to turn into James so I can talk to Chrissie’s mum. Even though I’m not supposed to shift, I will for a couple of minutes. I’ll knock on the door and tell her mother that I’ve come to meet Chrissie so we can walk to school or something like that. Whilst Chrissie is getting ready, her mother and I can have a little chat. I want to have a good impression on her mother.

I walk through the front door and then I quickly shift into James and appear. I knock on the door and wait for Chrissie’s mum to answer. The door opens and Chrissie’s mum looks at me confused.

“Hi Ms Jacobs. I’m supposed to be walking with Chrissie today. I came to meet her.” I tell her. “I’m James.” I hold my hand out and we shake hands.

“Chrissie’s never told me about you before.” Chrissie’s mum says as though she is suspitious of me.

“I’ve only recently joined the school, so we haven’t been friends for long.” I tell her.

“You’re not one of Justin’s friends are you?” She asks.

“No, no! I promise. I am Chrissie’s friend.” I say to her.

“I only remember her talking about a boy named Harry. He’s all she talks about.” She tells me. A big smile covers my face. I’m all that Chrissie talks about. Why didn’t I introduce myself as Harry? That would have been a better idea.
