Here we are, the last chapter. Please enjoy!

"Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Wait. Wait. Mike is this idiot of a knight?" I gasped.
Mike gave a long low bow, "It is indeed I,"
"Will someone please just tell me what's going on!" I shouted into the air.
"Well you see my dear," The queen said smiling, "When you were just a baby, you were betrothed to Michael Ferdinand III, son of Lord Ferdinand II. And we were very happy. But, there were these two men who wanted to kidnap you. We were never sure why, but we couldn't allow that to happen. So we sent you to a small village and left you at the doorstep of a family who didn't have any children. We did it to protect you, my child. Then we sent Micheal to make sure you were protected. We received word only a few days ago that the two men had found you, so we told Michael that it was time to bring you back. And he did!"
He brought me back? That was laughable. Protect me? Try the opposite. "Yes, so, I'm a princess, Mike is a knight, and I'm expected to completely leave everything I've ever known to marry him and become a proper princess?" You know, I really needed to stop yelling at royalty. It's probably a good thing I was a princess, I'd probably be spending the rest of my life in the dungeons otherwise.
"Do I understand that you wish to return to the village?" The King questioned me, sounding concerned.
"Well, yeah!" I wasn't really sure what he wanted to hear from me. Then I thought for a moment. This was my father. My real, actual father and mother. How would they feel? They probably felt terrible about having to send me away. "It's, it's my home," I said quietly.
The King and Queen looked at each other. "But," the Queen said seeming confused, " this couldn't have happened at a better time! The betrothal agreement said that you would be married before your seventeenth birthday!"
"But, I suppose that it doesn't say it has to be here. We could arrange for her to live in the village."
I smiled. This was it! I could finally go home! But, believe it or not, I have a conscious. "Um," I rubbed my face nervously, "What if I lived in both places?"
"I'm sorry?" The Queen looked sad, and yes, I felt bad about it. But I'm trying to come up with a solution. (Come on people, work with me!)
"I mean, I guess technically, I'm the only heir to the throne. I can't just completely run away from this. I have responsibilities!" (Yay, responsibilities) "So, I could stay in my village until the wedding, and then I could move into the castle. Assuming of course, that you occasionally let me 'sneak' out of the castle to visit my village." What was I saying? Help!
My parents smiled. "That would be lovely."
"I'm all for it!" Mike yelled picking me up and spinning me around.
Then we had one of those classic "THE END" hugs. It was great.
I mean, come one. I got my parents, I got Mike. Perfect. But, I guess you could say I'm not as normal as I thought.
I bet you can guess what I'm going to say next?
That's right.
And we all lived happily ever after.
(Until someone else tries to kidnap me, or some other craziness. I don't even know what to expect anymore.)
The End
~~~
Wow, that took way to long to finish.
I hope you enjoyed this little story! I really enjoyed writing.
This ending may not be amazing, but I had some major writer's block but felt like I needed to finish it.
I'm still editing, but, it's good to finally bring this to a close.
Be sure to check out my new story, "The Last Case", a modern mystery novel.
Thanks so much for reading!
God bless,
Jamie (Trekkiehood)
