I slowly woke up. I hate waking up. It doesn't matter what time it is. It could be noon and I still hate waking up... I'm just that kind of person I guess. When I finally had some brain power I was very surprised. I fully expected to be tied up in some shed (or barn, depending on the kidnappers budget), but was surprised to find myself in a bed. A pink bed. A very pink bed. I sat up quickly and looked around. I was in a large bedroom with huge open windows. The entire room was pink. Pink walls, pink pillows, pink bedspread, there was even a pink dress hanging off of one of the dressers! I groaned. This colour hurt my eyes. Suddenly a door opened causing me to jump. It didn't help when a lady came in and screamed.
"She's awake!" came the exclamation. Then everything happened at once. About twenty maides rushed, five of them pushing carts of food. The other fifteen basically pulled me out of bed and before I could protest had somehow gotten me to take a bath (I hate baths because come on, I'm just going to get dirty again!), had my hair curled, and was wearing that pink frilly dress. Really? Pink? I was finally awake enough to respond to life and yelled.
"Enough!" Everyone stopped. "Thank you." I nodded with an annoyed smile. "So, would someone care to tell me what is going on!" I started off reasonably quiet but ended with an angry shout. (But could you really blame me? In the last twenty-four hours, I had been kidnapped THREE TIMES!!!) No one said anything, and to be honest I couldn't blame them. Then one of the maids looked at me and simply said:"The King wished to see you, your highness." I just looked at her with an open mouth. I was so done, so very, very done. I didn't even respond.
"Well then take me to the king!" I said almost sarcastically, throwing up my arms in annoyance. The maids all looked at each other before ushering me out of the room.
I'm not really sure how I got there, but eventually, I ended up in front of two very large oak doors. They gave me a little shove and the doors seemed to open on their own.
I walked in, head held high in my usual arrogant way. (Hey, I won't deny it.) There before me was the King on his throne, the Queen beside him. I had never actually seen them in person before. They looked... different. For the King, his portrait was greatly exaggerated. Either that or he had lost a considerable amount of weight since his last portrait. He wasn't skinny per say, but he wasn't fat like the pictures made him look like. He had light brown hair and a considerably short beard. (It actually wasn't all that short, it was just that the portraits made it look so long it was almost shocking.) He was wearing a long purple robe with gold intertwine. A golden scepter with a purple jewel on the top and a solid gold crown completed his outfit. Now the Queen, her portrait didn't do her justice. She was easily the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. She had blonde hair with brown woven in. It was braided, but not in the way I had seen in the village. This was different. It was braided on the top of her head, almost like it was making a crown out of her hair. Then there was the small tiara that somehow encased her hair. The gold band was enhanced by the beautiful jewels intertwined. She was small and lithe looking. She wore a long purple dress with gold thread encasing the sleeves and hem of the dress. She honestly looked magical sitting at her husband's side. (The royal painter really needed to take an art class.)
Looking up at them I was awestruck. I attempted to say something but managed to just stutter. I began to bow, but realizing my mistake made a fool of myself in my attempt at a curtsy. The King and Queen seemed to just smile. A very kind smile (I can tell the difference as I am a very good judge of character). The Queen seemed to have tears in her eyes and I was worried I had done something wrong. (Trust me, it wouldn't surprise anyone.)
Suddenly the King spoke. "Alecia," he whisper, "Alecia my dear, you have finally come home."

Hi! Thank you so much for bearing with me. I will try to keep a steady update schedule, but between finals and summer break can't make any promises. I am really sorry about this but I do have a life. (Haha, who am I kidding!) But really, thanks for all of your support. I know this chapter is a little different, but I hope it is similar enough to the other chapters. Please let me know what you think! (Also let me know if you can think of a better chapter name :)
God bless,
Trekkiehood
