The Bodyguard

Ch1

1 month later ...

Ciel's POV

"Sei inconcepibile (You are unbelievable). How dare you do this behind my back? A bodyguard are you kidding me??" I shouted at the old man angrily. I've just been informed by my PA (personal assistant) Pierré, that he canceled all my meetings so I can go meet with potential bodyguards.

"I am more than capable of protecting myself. I don't need a bodyguard. I can protect myself, I've done so for the last 12 years!" I yelled. He tricked me into coming here thinking it was a business meeting. "I know you can protect yourself but I worry about you. You're my granddaughter. You saw the threats sent to us. They have targeted you because you are the COO (chief operating officer, 2nd in command) now. We must take necessary precautions to secure your safety. If not for me then for Kai".

I rolled my eyes. Of course he would use Kai. Now he cares about me. If only he would've done this 12 years ago. I began to think about it, and the truth is I couldn't die. I couldn't leave Kai alone, I must protect Kai at all costs.

The past month has been absolutely ridiculous. I've had to deal with so much crap in the first month since my return. Being appointed the new COO of Gianni Enterprises. Still not being able to see Kai. Being threatened for being named the new COO. And lastly the old man trying to fix our estranged relationship. I know the old man is scheming something, I just don't know what exactly.

"Fine, but we will do this my way" Lorenzo my chauffeur opens my door and I step out of the car and enter the venue. I head to the restroom and change into clothes more suitable. I sigh. Let's get this over with. I will show him I don't need a bodyguard.
