The party was over and Naielah and Michael went to his hotel room. "So, when are you leaving?" she asked.
"Well, I was thinking..." he paused
"Thinkin what?" she asked
"I was gonna stay here a little longer. I need a break before I start my next album. I wanted to buy a house out here." he answered.
Naielah smiled and hugged him. She was so glad to hear that he was staying. She didnt know what she was going to do when he left. Now she was positive that the relationship was going to last. "I was gonna tell you later on this week, but since its your birthday, that can be on of your suprises." he said smiling.
She smiled back and kissed him. "So whats my other gift?" she asked. He smiled and told her to sit down. She sat and watched him walk to his closet. "Close your eyes." he said. She slowly closed her eyes and she heard Michael rummaging through his things. He found the gift and walked to her.
He bent down to her knees and looked at her smile.
"Open your eyes." he whispered
She opened her eyes and saw a diamond necklace. It had a flower as the main piece. It looked so expensive. "Oh gosh Michael! Its beautiful!" she said hugging him. He smiled and kissed her cheek. "Im glad you like it." he said.
"What kind of flower is this?" she asked
"Its a lotus." he answered
"Its beautiful. So beautiful." she said breathlessly
He smiled and walked to her. "You're beautiful. Astonishing." he said putting his hands around her waist. "Dance with me." he whispered in her ears. She passionately sighed and nodded. MIchael put on his song "The Lady in My Life" and started to dance with her.
"Michael you're so romantic." she passionately said. He kissed her neck and rested his hand around the small of her back. "You're a good dancer." he whispered in her ear. "Not as good as you." she giggled back.
The song ended and she walked to the iPod dock. "I really love this song." she said turning the music. "Liberian Girl" played and Michael smiled. "Ironic huh?" he said grabbing her to dance. "Yeah." she said smiling.
He started to quietly sing the song to her, and she rested her head on his shoulder.
~~~Liberian Girl . . .
You Came And You Changed
My World
A Love So Brand New
Liberian Girl . . .
You Came And You Changed
Me Girl
A Feeling So True
Liberian Girl
You Know That You Came
And You Changed My World,
Just Like In The Movies,
With Two Lovers In A Scene
And She Says . . .
"Do You Love Me"
And He Says So Honestly . . .
"I Love You, Liberian Girl"~~~
Soon the song ended and they just stared into each other's eyes. "Michael, I love you." she whispered.
"I love you more." he said back
"I cant beat that." she teased
"I got one for ya...I love you MOST." he said smiling
She smiled back and kissed him. They laid down together in silence. "What's your father like?" Naielah randomly asked.
Michael sighed. "Well, I dont know him well. First, I dont call him "father" or "dad". Never did. He wanted us to call him by his first name; Joseph. When I was a child I didnt get to play like other kids. My brother's and I would be in the studio all day recording. Joseph said there was no time to play. If we missed a step or sang the wrong note, he would spank us. My brother Malon was a constant target. Joseph used to tell him to repeat after me, like I was a role model. I felt sad and lonely sometimes. He used to talk about my apperance as I got older too. Saying my nose was too big and my bumps made me look ugly. My mother on the other hand, was supportive and sweet. I love my mother with all my heart. I love my father too, but I just don't understand him." he said sadly
Naielah looked into his sweet hazelnut eyes and saw the pain. Maybe she shouldn't have asked she thought. "Im sorry Michael. I feel the same way about my father sometimes. I dont understand some of the things that he does. I was always put in the best schools, got whatever I wanted, never complained, the "good child". I was unhappy because my father was never there. My mother would try to cheer me up, but sometimes moms can't fill in for fatherly duties. Being one of two major doctors in a village is a lot of work though. So, I can understand why he want there, but....."
"But, you needed him there sometimes. I understand completely." he said. They stared into each other's eyes and felt a special bond. They were more alike than they thought. She scooted closer to him and he held her.
"Michael..."
"Yeah?"
"You're the only one that understands me. The only one."
"I feel like that too." he said back.
It was getting late and Naielah thought about going home, but she wanted to stay with Michael. "Stay with me." he whispered, pulling her back into the bed. "Ill get in trouble if Im not home at a certain hour." she said.
"Its your birthday. You're grown. You can do what you want. Stay with me." he urged. He had a point. She was grown and she could make her own decisions. Besides, she was safe with Michael. She climbed back into bed and he pulled her to him.
"You're safe with me, so dont worry about it." he said closing his eyes.
"I know Michael. I know Im safe with you." she said back
He fell asleep and Naielah stared at him. He looked like a peaceful baby, holding on to her. She put the covers over them and she cut the light off. She gently wiped the hair out of his eyes and kissed his forehead.
"I love you." she whipered softly. He heard her and smiled. Then she fell asleep in his arms.
