"EEEEEEEKKKK!" I screamed from the bathroom. Michael busted in. "Baby what happened!?" he asked nervously.
"Michael spider spider! Get it!" I said pointing to one of those big ass house spiders. Michael sighed and grabbed a piece of paper, scooped it up, and let it free out the window. "Scardy cat." he said shaking his head.
"Whatever! Always gettin on me." I said pouting. He giggled. "I love your cute little accent and the way you pout. I should get on your nerves more often.
"Would you like to sleep on the couch tonight?" I asked
"No ma'am!" he said obediently.
"OK then. Dont make me mad mister." I said getting up and kissing him. "Where's Teddy?" I asked. "Oh...he's downstairs eating his lunch." he said. "Michael....you cant leave him alone...he likes to tear up anything he sees!" I said walking downstairs.
"So that explains my favorite pillow?" he asked
"Yea. I wouldnt gnaw on it with my teeth." I said sarcastically. "Teddy!!!" I said picking him up from the couch. "Hey Ted you owe me a pillow." Michael said in his face. He licked his nose and Michael giggled.
"Ill buy you another one sweetheart." I said patting Teddy. "You can repay me in other ways." he said seductively. "You are a freak!" I said laughing.
Then the phone rang. "Hello?" I said on the phone.
"Lay Lay?" Anna said
"Hey girl!"
"Oh my gosh I heard what happened! Are you OK?"
"Yea. Im staying with Michael. Forever." I said smiling. Michael gave me a thumbs up and a wink.
"I dont blame ya. Can I visit?"
"Of course! You're welcome anytime!"
"Great! I miss you so much. We have to do a girl's night out or somethin."
"Agreed. How about tomorrow night."
"I ugh.....can't"
"Why not?"
"Because....I..."
"Come on you can tell me."
"You're going to kill me when I tell you this."
"Who is it about?"
"I cant say."
"Dont make me mad Anna. You're my best friend. You should be able to tell me anything. I never keep secrets from you."
"Well....I've been keeping this secret from you for a long time." I heard her cracking up
"What on earth are you talking about?"
"I...I've been with Toby."
When I heard her say that dipshit Toby, my heart literally dropped to the ground. She knew how much I couldnt stand him, and yet she wants to fool around behind my back. Thanks Anna.
"Lay Lay you still there?"
"You better be damn lucky that I am."
"Please dont be mad."
"Mad?! Im furious! Why didnt you tell me? You know I cant stand it when people lie to me. I am your friend! I would of been mad of course, but I would of learned to live with it. But when you throw this notorious lie in my face you expect me to just live with it?"
Michael stepped in being all nosy. "I can see you Michael." I said pointing to him. "Sorry babe...Ill just ugh.....go sniff the flowers with Teddy! Come on boy!" he said running outside.
"Back to you..."
"Im really...."
"Did you sleep with him?"
"Naielah I..."
"I knew it."
"IM SORRY!" she cried over the phone. I shook my head and held my chest, because my heart was beyond broken. I could care less who Toby was with, but my best friend just takes the cake.
"Naielah it was after your birthday party. He came over to me and started a conversation. I talked with him for awhile and he asked on a date. I was so damn jealous of you and Michael. I had no date to your party. I was the only single one. You being my best friend I wouldve thought you wouldve hooked me up with someone, but its always been about you. Miss doctor's daughter, the rich one, the pretty one, the awesome one."
"Anna I had no idea..."
"NO! When I saw you with Michael I thought that couldve been me, in love with someone awesome, someone that understood me and could take care of me. I know Toby has done some stupid stuff in the past but I..."
"Go on."
"I got to know him. He's just under stress. He didnt want to marry you believe it or not. He liked someone else?"
"And that person would be you right?"
"Yes, but I turned him down because..."
"Because what?"
"I was in love with another guy."
"Do I know him?"
"Yes. You know him very well."
"How well are you speaking?"
"Well enough to live with him."
Boom. The unexpected. Please Jesus no.
"You love Michael don't you?" I asked crying.
"Yes Naielah I do. From the first day you introduced me to him. I dream about him constantly. Over and over again. The dreams dont stop."
"Anna I am in love with Michael and we are getting married! How am I supposed to say 'I do' when another girl, which is my best friend, is in love with him?!"
"I dont know I..."
"You have suprised me enough. I need a break from you."
"I really do apol.."
"Good bye." I said hanging up. I looked outside and saw my fiance playing with Teddy. I sat there and just cried. How can I love when I just hurt?
