Danny lead Raven into a large room. Inside was many fighting dummies you see in a little kids karate class, and a wall with weapons of all sorts. "I still don't know why I'm here." Raven said, looking around nervously. Did he have to battle this guy? Danny smiled, "you'll find out, all in good time." He said, and tossed him a throwing knife. A target popped up from the floor. "Show us what you got."
Raven was terrible at throwing knives. He missed the target several times, Danny said it was because of his hair always in his eyes. He trained for hours, Danny scribbled some notes down on a clip board, then lead him to another room.
"You are here for one reason and one reason only." Danny advised him, looking up at Raven, "Demons who bear the marks shall be protectors of the mortal world." Raven nodded, and walking into the room after Danny. It was very small, and decorated with bunk beds all over the walls. Assuming it was a dorm room, Raven looked over to Danny for further explanation.
"This is where all the rookies sleep. Once you complete your training, you may come and go as you please." He explained, "Get some rest, we have lots of work to do tomorrow." Raven nodded slowly, then unfolded his wings and flew up to an empty bunk. Demons of all kinds were in the room, both sleeping, and talking. Raven already felt out of place.
The demon dreamt of nothing. He swam in a pool of darkness, the only thing visible was his pale, bare skin. Raven sat there for a while, staring into nothingness, until he heard a voice. It was Lucy, calling out to him like she did last night. Her voice was angelic as ever, and he clawed through the darkness until he finally crawled out through the little speck of light.
They called themselves the Demon Sons and Daughters. It was much like being demon hunters, but the other way around. Raven learned that back in the day, the angels became drunk on their own power, and started committing things that didn't strike them were crimes. Many people believed that Angels were the guardians, but in reality, the "demons" were.
Training was nothing like you would imagine. Raven was sent into a dream scape every day, fighting battles, and getting evaluated based on the decisions he made. To Danny and Lucy's surprise, Raven completed his training several years early. Something was special about the new comer, and they had yet to find out what it was.
After Ravens final training session, he headed back to his dorm. This particular session was extremely sickening. All the demon wanted to do was go to sleep. When he returned to his room, Raven fell on the ground, and began to get hot and cold all over. Everyone in the boys dorm watched as he had several fits. He exploded into a ball of light, and when the brightness dulled, Ravens once black marks, shined a bright gold.
