Imani POV (Skip to Monday):

"I HEAR THEM GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS. TALKIN' 'BOUT ME EVERYDAY. 'CAUSE I WALK WITH A BOP (AND I GOT THAT SWAG TO MATCH MY Js)" my iPhone Alarm rang. It was my birthday and I wanted to hear Mindless Behavior right when I got up. But at the moment, I just wanted to stay in bed. I didn't want to face anyone today. I bet girls were gonna be all up on Jaden since I was out of the picture. I dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom to take a shower. After I got out, I looked through my closet to find the right outfit. I finally settled on an oversized gray sweater and black leggings. I put on jewlery for decoration. Then I put on my mustache beanie and black and white Nike sneakers. http://www.polyvore.com/imanis_birthday_outfit/set?id=56563318#stream_box . When I was satisfied, I walked downstairs and watched music videos. A couple of minutes later, I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I turned around and it was my sister. "Happy Birthday, Bitch," I said. "Happy Birthday, Hoe," she said back. I went in the kitchen and ate breakfast while Brianca did her hair. "You look cute," she said. "So do you," I said. She was wearing a plaid shirt, skinny jeans, red and white Nike sneakers, and jewlery. http://www.polyvore.com/brianca_birthday_outfit/set?id=56564779 . All in all, she looked almost as good as me. "Thanks," she said. I shrugged. When the clock hit 7:30, we told our mom we were leaving and headed to the busstop. When we arrived, we were showered with "Happy Birthdays." I looked in Jaden's direction. I was about to run up and kiss him, until I remember what happened on Saturday. "Happy Birthday, Brianca," he said. "Thanks," she replied. He looked at me. "Happy Birthday," he said to me. "Fuck you," I snarled. Everyone gave us confused looks. When the bus pulled up, I was the first one on. "HEY EVERYONE IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!" I screamed. Everyone mumbled, "Happy Birthday." I sat next to my friend, Sam. "Hey Sam, how ya doing?" I asked. She stared at me like I had two fucking heads. "Imani what's wrong?" she asked. "What do you mean? I'm just chilling with my buddy since 1st grade," I said. "That's the problem. You you usually sit with Jaden. What happened?" she asked. My smile drifted away and I looked down. "H-He cheated on me with Alana," I stuttered. I looked up and she was shocked. "She's such a bitch. She knew how much he meant to you. Just like Chresanto," she said. I was shocked. I never heard the whitest friend I know, curse. "Sam, did you say what I think you said?" I asked. "Imani, you act like I never cursed before," she said. I started feeling guilty. I guess she started cursing after me and Jaden started going out. I haven't been there for her. "Sam, I'm sorry. I'm not a true friend," I said, hugging her. "Imani, it's fine. You had someone special in your life," she said. "No it should've been 'Chicks Before Dicks,'" I said. "Imani, it's okay. I understand. If I got someone special in my life, I probably would've been the same way," she said. I released her. "Imani, I got you a present for your birthday." She went through her pocket and got out a small box and handed it to me. I opened it and pulled out some Star Spangled Hoop Earings. I wanted those. I told her. And she got them for me. "I don't deserve them," I said, giving them back. "Shut up for a second and take the gotdamn earrings," she said. I took them and gave her a hug. "Thanks, Sam. You're such a good friend," I said. We talked for the whole bus ride. I didn't even notice we were at school. I was so engaged in our conversation. When I got off the bus and into school, I couldn't help but think, This could be a good day, or this could be a bad day...

Skip To 3rd Period:

So far my day was going good. Everyone in my homeroom told me "Happy Birthday." Some people got me candy. I felt so loved. I was in 3rd period, and everyone was giving Mr. Volpe a hard time again. I was mad. Like, don't give my nigga a hard time on my birthday. "CAN Y'ALL SHUT UP AND LET HIM TEACH?! LIKE DAMN!" I screamed over everyone. Everyone looked at me and started saying shit like, "I don't know who you telling to shut up," and, "Look who grew a pair of balls," and, "Just 'cause it's ya birthday, doesn't mean you can tell people what to do." "LISTEN! I'M TIRED OF Y'ALL ASSES GIVING MR. VOLPE'S LIFE HELL! LIKE HE DON'T DESERVE TO BE MISTREATED BY Y'ALL IGNORANT ASSES!" I screamed. Everyone grew quiet. "Thank you Imani, for that... 'speech,' but back to the lesson," Mr. Volpe said. Nobody was saying shit for the rest of the period. I felt proud of myself. When the bell rang, everyone was headed out the door. "Hey, Imani," Mr. Volpe said. I looked back. "Thank you and Happy Birthday." I smiled and headed to the cafeteria with my friends, Taylor, Jeanise, and Ananda. I told them what happened between me and Jaden. They said I deserve better. When we got there, I stopped in my tracks. Oh no, this shit can't be happening. I saw Jaden with his arm wrapped around... Alana. I nearly threw up. I was on the edge of tears. She had on MY necklace. Guess he took me seriously when I said give it to her. Then he... kissed her. "Mani Boo, what's wrong?" Jeanise asked. I didn't say anything, just let the tears roll down my cheeks. It's like he forgot all about me. Like we were never together. Did our relationship not mean a thing? Jeanise saw what I was staring at. "At least she got some make up on that nose," Taylor said. I started cracking up. They cheer me up every time I'm down. "Brianca, Gayle, and Cheyenne were right. We should give them hell," Jeanise said. "No," I said, serious as ever. "Let them have their fun. 'Cause once he had the best, he can't do better." So much for a happy birthday gift. When they finally came up for air, Jaden looked at me. So did Alana. Jaden's face read, "I'm sorry." Alana's face read, "Haha bitch, I stole yet ANOTHER boyfriend of yours." I gave them the deadliest glare I possibly could. "Sorry," he mouthed. "Go to Hell," I mouthed back. "Watch ya language," Ananda said. "Mind ya business," I said. "Let's go in the lunch line," Ananda said. We walked to the line. Everything was Gucci, until Jaden and Alana got in back of us. "I'm not too hungry anymore," I said. "Imani, don't let that bitch run you outta line," Jeanise said, loud enough for Alana to hear. But did Jeanise give a shit? No. "Naw, I'm just not hungry," I said, and before they could get a word in, I left the line and sat down at our table.  My birthday just went downhill from there...
