"Got it," Harry gasped, racing down the marble steps to join them where they were huddled. "Ready to go, then?"

"All right," Hermione whispered, looking around nervously as a group of rowdy sixth-years walked past them. "So Ron -- you can and head Umbridge off... Ginny, Luna, if you can start moving people out of the corridor... Amisty, go find Draco and try to keep him away as long as possible... Harry and I will get the cloak on and wait until the coast is clear..."

Amisty set off immediately to the grounds, where she knew for a fact Draco was lounging with Blaise and Pansy and Theodore Nott. Crabbe and Goyle were off studying, probably, as they both had exams to resit.

"Oh look," Pansy sneered as she got closer. "Guess the mutt escaped the pound after all."

Amisty ignored her.

"Can I sit with you?" She asked quietly, still trying to figure out a plan of what she would do if Umbridge called for him.

"Of course, love," Draco replied, smiling up at her. "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah," She didn't meet his gaze and laid down next to him, resting her cheek on his shoulder and feigning a yawn. "Just tired."

"Eugh," Pansy rolled her eyes, gathering up her things and flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I'll be in the common room."

"Bye, Pans," Blaise called over his shoulder, making no attempt to stop nor follow after her.

"So you're the infamous Amisty River?" Theodore asked, scanning her over lazily.

Amisty's lip quirked, "Maybe. How'd you guess?"

He grinned a bit lopsidedly, "Mustn't reveal my secrets. Pleasure to finally meet you, I must say."

"Paws off, Nott," Draco warned, shifting to block her from view.

Blaise met Amisty's gaze and rolled his eyes dramatically. She snickered.

"Just trying to make a good first impression, Malfoy," Theodore mocked his posh accent. "Not trying to steal away your girlfriend."

Amisty actually snorted at that.

Draco scowled, poking her stomach. His expression turned fond when she laughed, though.

"I promise I won't go off with another Slytherin," She grinned, trying to ignore the gleaming 'I' pin next to his prefect badge. "One is plenty enough, thanks."

"A promise and an insult all in the same breath," Theodore whistled lowly as Blaise shook his head. "She's a keeper, that one."

"You're really begging to get hexed, aren't you?" Blaise chuckled into his hand, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"She thinks I'm funny," Theodore pointed at Amisty, who had hidden her face in Draco's robes to disguise her laughter. "At least someone knows that I'm joking."

That only made her laugh harder. That is until she went very still as Draco's Inquisitorial Squad pin got warm above her head.

"Duty calls," Draco's chest rumbled as he spoke and it took much of Amisty's control not to shrivel up into a ball.

"Do you have to go?" She forced herself to speak, looking up at him.

He smiled softly again and smoothed down her hair, "Unfortunately, yes, we've lost points for not showing up."

She didn't even have to pretend to frown.

"A tad ridiculous, but I do have to go," He pulled her up to her feet and pressed a kiss to her temple. "I'll see you soon."
