Luke's POV
"Wait, he almost kissed you?!" Calum looked shocked as I told him about last night with Ashton.
"Well we were sort of staring at each other and he started leaning in and got really close but then his eyes flicked to my hair and pulled fluff out and I'm confused because he was sure as hell close enough to kiss me and it looked like he chickened out last second and now I'm confused." I explained to Calum once again.
"Mate, you're gonna have to talk to him."
"What? Why?"
"Because he seems a little scared to admit his feelings so you need to be the one to do it if you want the pair of you to go anywhere."
I groaned, "But how?"
"Just go up to him and tell him." Calum spoke like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"It's not that simple, Cal. What if he doesn't like me and I read all the signs all wrong?"
"Then at least you know."
"It's not that easy." I tugged at my hair, feeling a little stressed.
"And why not?" Calum questioned.
"Because you're not the one who'll be embarrassed if I'm wrong about his feelings." I mumbled.
"Luke, I'm your best friend so please listen to me when I say this, he likes you." Calum assured me.
"But how do you know?"
"If you could see the way he looks at you then you'd know and from his actions last night, it's even more obvious." Calum smiled.
"Fine but then how do I tell him?"
"Just go up to him."
Biting my lip, I looked down and fiddled with my fingers to show I was feeling unsure but Calum didn't care as he turned me around so I was facing the direction of Ashton who was down the corridor. "Luke, it's gonna be fine ok?" Calum reassured me but I was getting too nervous.
"No, Calum, I can't." I protested but Calum had already pushed me too close to Ashton to turn back, just like he had done when he got me to talk to Ashton in the first place. Once Ashton noticed me, Calum slipped off with a smirk on his face.
"Hey, Luke." Ashton smiled.
"Hi."
"What was Calum doing?" Ashton looked confused.
"He just thought you looked lonely and thought I should talk to you." I shot him a smile and he smiled back.
"Well that's nice of him, I guess."
"Yeah, that's Calum." I let out a nervous laugh.
"You ok?" Ashton looked confused at how I was acting, I didn't blame him.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I nodded for emphasis.
"Well, ok, anyway, I need to tell you something so I was wondering if you want to come to mine again tonight?" Ashton bit his lip.
"Er, yeah."
Ashton then smiled and said, "Great, well I'll see you in lesson.", before slipping off down the hall. Taking my gaze off Ashton's form, I turned back around only to be met with Calum.
"What happened?"
"Well, I didn't tell him but he wants to tell me something at his house tonight."
Calum's face lit up, "He so gonna tell you he likes you!" He almost squealed.
Grabbing my hand, Calum started to pull me down the corridor, telling me how he needed to tell Michael about this and acting all excited. All the fears about Ashton being 'x' seemed to have gone from Calum's mind as he pulled me, maybe he was starting to doubt the theory just like me. The only problem was, who the hell was it if it turned out not to be Ashton?
---
Throughout the day, I'd been in a few lessons with Ashton and during lunch, he sat with the 3 of us and I allowed him, Michael and Calum to talk and try to bond. The pair seemed to like Ashton and I could see the nervousness disappear from Ashton when they laughed with him when he spoke or actually listened to what he had to say. It seemed he was doing well at the socialising he told me he was rubbish at and honestly, I was glad. Sitting alone most of the time can't be fun even if he didn't seem to mind.
Today had made me happy and I was even looking forward to going to Ashton's because it was nice seeing him and I really wanted to know what he had to tell me. However, my happiness faltered when I saw another one of little bits of paper in my locker once again.
'You don't look yourself today Luke, what is it? You've barely said anything at the times that I saw you and normally, you are quite talkative but today, you haven't seemed it. I may be wrong of course but I worry, I don't like the thought of something being wrong with you. I don't like the thought one bit.
I like seeing that smile on your face and I like seeing you talk with friends because that makes me happy Luke, I don't want you to feel upset.
Anyway, I hope that if you aren't feeling yourself then you'll be fine soon. I can't wait to see that proper smile on your face.
X'
After reading the note, I was unsure how to feel. I think this was the first note in a long time that showed some sort of caring nature towards me and it made me want to feel a sense of joy within me because this person had seen me and thought I was sad and had tried to make me happy by writing this but I also wanted to feel creeped out because this person had studied me long enough to try and grasp how I was feeling and that sometimes takes a while.
Deciding I should opt for feeling nice that someone had written that to make me feel better, even when I didn't need it, I left the note in my locker and walked to Ashton's locker to wait for him.
I wonder what he wanted to tell me.

A/N: This sucked, I'm sorry. However, the story should get interesting soon and I hope you'll stick around to read it. It's weird but I don't actually have anything to say other than please vote and comment, thanks xx
