Luke's POV

After form, Ashton and I walked hand in hand down the corridor as we made our way to English. We weren't sure whether 'x' would be watching or not but we tried acting as normal as possible.

Mr Bates was already in the classroom when Ashton and I got there and when he saw our entwined hands, he pulled a disgusted face. Great, we really needed someone to be homophobic. He continued to watch us with a scrunched up face as we walked to our desks.

"Why is he basically scowling at us?" Ashton whispered once we sat down.

"Do you think we could be homophobic?" I whispered back.

"He looks like he could be with how he was looking at us." Ashton said.

"Well, that's just great."

Just as I was about to speak, the second bell rang and Mr Bates began his lesson, his eyes seeming to skim over Ashton and I as if it was too gross to even look at us. What a nice teacher.

Throughout the lesson, Ashton and I spoke quietly to each other, sometimes whispering cute things but towards the end of the lesson, Ashton said something that caused me to laugh and I laughed a little too loudly and I caught the attention of Mr Bates.

"Luke, you have been whispering and giggling with Ashton all lesson and now you have completely disrupted my lesson, come back here after school for detention." Mr Bates snapped.

"Wait, what-" I was about to ask why Ashton wasn't getting a detention but Mr Bates cut me off.

"Don't back-chat me, just be quiet and pay attention."

I then quickly shut my mouth and slumped back down in my seat, feeling annoyed he gave me a detention so quickly and angry at the fact that Ashton didn't get one too. I didn't really understand that and it wasn't exactly fair either.

Once lesson was over, Ashton took the opportunity to talk to me as we walked to next lesson, "I can't believe he gave you a detention for that."

"Sounds mean but I'm annoyed that you didn't get one with me."

"I would be too because I was the one doing most of the talking, I'm sorry I got you in trouble though." Ashton bit his lip.

"Hey, don't stress. It's both of our faults."

"I still feel bad."

"Well, there's nothing we can do now. I'll just have to do the detention but will you meet me afterwards?"

"Of course." Ashton smiled.

"Thanks." I said and kissed him before we entered the classroom.

During lunch, Ashton and I found out about Michael and Calum and to say I was happy would be an understatement. I'd thought the pair had liked each other for a while now but I didn't mention it to either of them just in case they got weirded out but now I knew they liked each other, it made me feel a whole lot better.

"I'm literally so happy for you guys but have you kissed?" I asked, excitedly.

Both Michael and Calum blushed so I took it as a yes and almost squealed. "Oh my god, guys! That is so cute!"

Ashton laughed at me whilst Michael and Calum just blushed harder but then a thought occurred to me, "Wait, Michael is this why you've been weird?"

He nodded, "Yeah, I was jealous because you had 2 people who liked you and I thought I had no one and I didn't think Calum would."

"Well, that's good to know. I thought you hated me."

"Of course I don't."

Before the conversation could carry on, the bell rang, signalling the end of lunch, and so the 4 of us stood up.

"I'll see you 2 tomorrow, yeah?" Directing my question to Calum and Michael since it was Friday today and I wanted to meet up tomorrow.

They both nodded and I turned to Ashton, "Remember to meet me after detention."

"Wait, you got a detention?" Calum butted in.

Nodding in response, Calum then asked, "With who?"

"Mr Bates."

"Awh, mate, that's tough."

"Yup."

"Well, good luck and I'll see you tomorrow." Calum said before walking off with Michael, Ashton and I left right after.

Ashton and I then went our separate ways at the crossroads in the corridor, "I'll see you later but I'm sorry if I'm late picking you up because I'm going home first since your detention is an hour." Ashton said and I nodded. I had no lessons with any of my friends for the afternoon and that's what made the detention seem even less appealing because I'd have to wait even longer to see any of my friends and Ashton.

I was really pissed off at Mr Bates right now.

Reaching Mr Bates' classroom for my detention, I took a deep breath before walking in. I still wasn't in the best mood and I really couldn't be arsed with dealing with a teacher like Mr Bates right now, he always lectures you for what you did wrong and I just couldn't be bothered with that. Well, who can?

Opening the door, I saw no one but Mr Bates in there and he greeted me when he saw me, "Ah, hello Luke, good to see you on time."

Nodding, I moved to sit down in a chair whilst I waited for other people to come in but after 5 minutes I concluded that no one would be joining me which was just great, what a way to make the next hour worse.

Mr Bates shut the door after the 5 minutes and said, "You were the only one I gave a detention to and it looks as if everyone is doing their own detention rather than sending them to me. Looks like it's just you and I for an hour." Mr Bates had a strange smile upon his lips.

"Sir, may I ask why Ashton didn't get a detention along with me? He was talking too."

"Trying to get your boyfriend in trouble, that's not very nice, Luke." Mr Bates smirked. Ok, he was creeping me out a little...

"I was just curious, sir."

"I didn't want him to ruin this." The teacher continued to smirk.

"I'm sorry?" I said, confused and getting increasingly freaked out by the look on the English teacher's face.

"Oh Luke, I'm honestly surprised you haven't figured it out by now, especially after yesterday."

"Yesterday?" I was thoroughly confused by now.

"Come on, Luke, think. Put the pieces together." The smirk on Mr Bates' face then grew into a larger smile.

Staring at him and thinking, a feeling of complete shock ran through me as I realised what he was talking about.

"You're 'x'?"

A/N: So, I'm pretty sure that cleared a lot of things up for people and confirm suspicions for others. I'm sorry if you think this story seems a little rushed but to me, I feel like I've been taking a while with this story and not getting very far with it but believe it or not, I have actually stuck to my plan with this so don't worry, there is more to come.

I'll try and update again tomorrow but it depends on how busy I am.
