a.n. just wanna say, I'm legit listening unironically to "There for You" and "Its Every Night Sis" while writing this, yeah, I'm disappointed too. Also, I just got a MacBook and omg am I obsessed with the sound of typing, so I'll be writing a lot.
My whole pregnancy had been fine, wonderful even. Marcus had been by my side the whole time, giving me foot massages, kind words and kisses. Although, recently my health took a turn for the worse. In my sixth month of pregnancy, I had an immense pain in lower back, such amount of agony that I've never felt before. Marcus and I, obviously fearing the worse went along to the doctors, to check on what was wrong. Luckily, the doctor announced to Marcus and I that this was just pregnancy pain and it was completely normal. Obvious relief and happiness filled us both, until the doctor recommended that I did not travel until the pain was gone, so not make it worse. Weeks passed and the pain did not fade. After months of hoping I could attend the World Cup to watch Marcus play I was declined by my growing baby and the pain it was causing me. My heart filled with sadness, in not being able to support my boyfriend in such an important moment in his career. For the first round of the World Cup I was only able to support him through the television. Suddenly, after weeks of extreme pain, the feeling in my lower back began to dim. Rushing to the doctors, I asked him if I was in an all right state to travel. Thank God he said yes.
My flight to Russia was long and uncomfortable, to say the least, but, the thought of seeing Marcus, no less seeing him do something he loves for the country he loves got me through the flight smiling. Once I arrived in Russia I made the decision not to tell Marcus that I was here. Since it was the morning of his big game against Colombia I didn't want to distract him from getting mentally ready for the game. After taking a taxi to my hotel, I quickly ditched my bags in my room and dashed off to the stadium, hoping to get there in time for kick off. Luckily, I made it just in time. I took my seat in the England box and sat down amongst the other WAGS, being beyond excited to see Marcus again after so many weeks of only seeing him through a screen. The team made their way onto the pitch, ready to begin their big game. My heart starting gleaming at the sight of Marcus. My eyes were attached to the sight of him, after being deprived of the sight for so long. I became so mesmerised by him that I did not realise the game had started until I heard the booming whistle to indicate the start of the match.
S.T.R.E.S.S
The whole length of the match had been beyond stressful. The first goal solidified England's placing in the next round. Until Colombia took back this guarantee of moving on to the next stage with their goal. Then, in added time, no goals were scored.
Emotions were high in the stadium, amongst all fans, with the air being thick with suspense. Both teams were preparing for the penalties that were about to decided their world cup fate. Whilst all the players were preparing themselves to take pentacles Marcus looks up into the crowd, his eyes start at the top of the stadium, progressively moving down. His eyes move along the nervous and excited fans until those gorgeous eyes meet my own. He instantly smiles when he sees me and immediately runs over to me. As soon as Marcus reaches me he gives me a quick and cheeky smile before plunging me into a deep kiss. I laugh but of course, kiss back. Marcus breaks away quickly, knowing he does not have much time before he must get back to the game. Marcus pulls me into a hug and whispers into my ear "I'm going to get this goal for you love, you and our kid". And with that Marcus ran back over to his team, leaving me in a state of pure bliss and proudness.
My fear soon returned to me as soon as Marcus stepped up to take his penalty. I held my breath as he took his run up towards the ball. Marcus strikes the ball with precision, and it glides towards the net. The goalie put his glove out towards the ball, however, he is too slow to stop Marcus' ball. Simultaneously, as the ball hit the back of the back of the net, the crowd spilled out with cries of excitement. Marcus, looked up at me in the box and smiled, and pointed down to his stomach, then back at me. At first, I was confused, however, as Eric Dier's winning goal for England went in the back of the net I finally understood what he had meant, he indeed did score his goal for me and our baby. Suddenly, everything Marcus had ever done for me came crashing over me and i realised he does it all for me and the baby, he does it all for us.
