The walk from my cell was slow. I kept my eyes to the floor and my muscles as relaxed as a could. I had a feeling that this walk to my new room would not be like it had been before my... change.

I heard pure-humans moving around me, their gazes glancing over me before doing a double take. I could feel the heat of their gazes as they looked at me and my still beating heart with outrage. I heard quiet complaints among the watchers. My shoulders stiffened a little, causing my escort's to tense as well. I glanced at them quickly: their faces were defensive but also forgiving to those who glared at our party. Marlow's eyes were hard and showed his inner conflict. Rosie's eyes were also hard, but I could see how nervous she was to be escorting me. I quickly flicked my eyes to the ground before they could notice my looks. The further we travelled into the facility, the louder the watchers got.

"Why is that thing still breathing?!"

"Do you think we should kill it?"

"The only reason it's still alive is because it wears the face of an old soldier. It's platoon feels sorry for it. It makes them weak."

I glare at the woman who made the last comment. My platoon was anything but weak and if these fighters only knew the pain that my presence causes them then they would consider them the toughest soldiers alive. The woman's eyes glare back at me, so to avoid conflict I drop my gaze. Rosie, Marlow and I walked another 50 metres before reaching the dining hall. I tensed, knowing that something would happen. Something had to happen with all those soldiers in the same room.

I looked up at the dining hall. It was almost the same as I remembered. A large metal room, filled to the brim with metal tables and benches. A large serving trolley ran along the western wall, allowing the soldiers to grab their portions before pushing them along. The fluorescent lighting made the room and everyone in it dull and colourless. As we walked in, it took a few seconds before everyone noticed us and froze. The room went silent. Most glared. Some looked away, as if the very sight of me held too much pain. But one face stood out to me.

"YOU!"

I lowered my head in defeat.

"What are YOU doing here you MONSTER?!"

The man's, or should I say boy's as he was barely 20, eyes were crazy and desperate as he lurched towards me, pushing apart the crowd, barely even noticing his hard shoves. He had dirty blonde hair, brown eyes and his face was pale with the large, purple, sunken bags underneath his eyes showing his complete exhaustion. Marlow and Rosie's hands tightened on my upper arms as he reaches us.

"How could you still be here and ALIVE?! How DARE you come here to shove your life in my face!" He panted at me, a metre away from me, as if getting to close to me would turn him into a monster too. I kept my eyes down, but tears filled my eyes, the memory of my crime burning in my mind and weakening my heart. I felt the affects of my guilt and heartbreak weakening my limbs but I held on.

"Move soldier. The prisoner is to be taken to its room." Rosie says sternly, glaring at the boy. He ignores her, or simply doesn't hear her in his pain filled state.

"Look what you did to me!! You took her from me you HEARTLESS BITCH!!!" He screams into my face, spit flying everywhere. My heart clenches tighter at his declaration, and I lose control of my tears and my limbs simultaneously, falling to my knees. Marlow and Rosie were surprised but they held only my shoulder. I look to the ground, my shame roaring through me, preventing me from even looking to the boy who's pain I've caused.

"I'm so sorry." I whisper, barely audible, my tears streaking down my face.

"Why did you do it?! If you're human you would have known how it would have hurt but you DID IT ANYWAY!!!" He says, his voice shaking as he's filled with pain. Everything other than the wrecked boy in front of me had faded away.
